cheapest place to get genuine toyota d-rings?

want to order extra set of genuine toyota
d-rings...where is the cheapest place to get em?

 

Well are you looking for toyota's d-rings? or are you looking for d-rings that are similar?
I think the toyota ones are pretty pricey but you can get similar ones for like $5 for a 5 pack.

You might note that "similar D-rings" are, in fact, a dime a dozen, so to speak.
But you wont get the backing plate, nor the nylon hold off washer to allow it to spin around, nor the proper length, non threaded fastner so that the unit can be torqued down to eliminate free play; very bad to have in plastic substrates.

I dont think a composite bed is very campatible with a drilled thru d-ring with out a sizable backing plate, even if you use a large surface washer.

 

^Who said you're supposed to drill through the bed for the non-Toyota ones? You put them in the bed bolts.

Remove small black washer, bolt and backing plate from the d-ring assembly. Unbolt using a T-55 bit purchased from Auto Zone for $3.57. Using angle grinder, cut off portion of washer so it sits properly on the hinge (holding other side with pliers). The large washer does not come off the bed bolt unless you grind down lock rings. I just left it on there to cut. Used some blue thread lock on the bolt and stuck it back in. Total project took 30 minutes (w/ trip to Auto Zone).

I may order another set for the middle bed bolts and would definitely order the cheaper ones. I'll compare because I want the stronger ones in front as they get the tie downs for my bikes.

I thought I could use the backing plate as well. Later learned I couldn't.

 

Yes, as long as you don't cross thread the $12 bolt like some fools do...

These are out of a chevy uplander van.





They are much heavier in construction than the OEM Toyota ones.

I just got mine in the mail front army surplus and they seem pretty well made. I will work on putting them in just gotta get the hex bit and start working.

It's my dad's company vehicle. They were removed to install some custom cabinets for storage.

It's was really easy to do. U just have to grind the ribs off the bolt. Enlarge the hole on the d-ring and slide it all together and they seem really sturdy.
