No 2012 Fog Kit

Hey guys so I called my dealer todayasking for a 2012 Fog Kit for my 12 Reg cab Base Model 4cyl tacoma and they dont have one?! They said they could possibly piece one up but it would be like 500 dollars haha. Anyone have a 2012 and get fogs that look factory? Like they fit in the slots on the bumper? Or should I say screw that and just get a Bull Bar and get nice fogs for that? If I where to do that I'd keep the bull bar for at least 2-3 years and after I buy my house I'd sell my other toys and afford a lift and Offroad Bumper with fogs anyway. i'm just trying to get some inputs but I want fogs now lol. I have been searching and found a few good fogs out there I'm just trying to find specific opinions on what I should do and possibly see your personal favorites and your set ups. "Fog" light sounds like it's being used in very general terms, but "fog" lights are not usually what people want. What do you want the lights to do? Look better, provide more lighting on highways, lights to help in actual fog?

I ask in case you're actually looking at mounting aftermarket lights on a bull bar. There's a ton of crap out there.

 

I want the fogs to fill in the ugly looking empty spot on my bumper lol. But also id light to brighten up the road a little and possible use in a field to spot deer. I called Toyota and they don't make a kit yet to fill in the empty slots so I think bull bar n after market lights on that for now

 

Well, you're probably going to have to buy the individual components (pricey), get some aftermarket replacements (like DEPO, which may not be out yet), or cobble something up yourself.

If you want to spot deer in a field, as in for hunting them, get a good handheld spot light.

If you want some good lights on the front end, get some good (which usually means expensive) lights in a driving, pencil, cornering, or some combination thereof from companies like Cibie, Hella, etc. Most of the cheaper stuff is just cheap.

 

Fog lights wont help with that. They put out a vertically narrow and horizontally wide beam to help when driving in fog and should be aimed below your low beams. If you want to spot deer you want driving or off road lights. They are designed to put out a longer range beam.
