Hello all, finally decided to jump in here as I just bought my second Tacoma.

Traded in a 2007 4X4 AC for this one mostly because I needed more room in the cab and I couldn't bring myself to go with another truck. I'm thinking of making a few appearance mods to make it more unique (grill, lights, wheels, maybe a modest lift) but I really do love the truck overall. Also was hoping to learn more about recreation in my area.

Anyway, I haven't been on a forum in a long time so I apologize in advance to all the folks I'm sure to annoy. Looking forward to talking trucks. :D

Welcome aboard. You right in Seattle or in the 'Burbs? I grew up in Federal Way/Auburn (back before FW incorporated). I miss it. I'd move back in a heart beat if I could afford it! :)

Speaking of recreation. It has been a while, but we used to go out to Ocean Shores in the summers when I was a kid and you could drive onto the beaches. That was a BLAST. For pure sightseeing, nothing beats the Olympic Peninsula, and there are fire roads all over the place and old logging roads EVERYWHERE. You just need to ask around with the locals about what is currently open and you're allowed to drive on. It seems to always change depending on the conditions (washouts and such) and who is controlling the area.

I remember going to a place up north called Monte Cristo when I was a kid and it was pretty cool, but we hiked a lot more than we drove because of washouts. My friend lives up near Granite Falls and he said there are a ton of places to explore up there. It's a bit of a drive depending on which side of Seattle proper you live on.... but it is a very beautiful area. So are the areas up around Forks (forget that they had anything to do with Twilight if you can). ;)

Thanks for the tips man, I'll have to check 'em out. :D

I'm actually close to Bellevue, but no one knows where that is, so I just go with Seattle to keep things easy. ;)
