Am I ok to tow this?

    I have the tow package on mine. Says I can two 6500lbs. I want to tow a two axle trailer with electric brakes. About te size of one full size truck. I'll be putting my friends 92 ranger on it and driving about 70 miles. Is our trucks capable of that?

    easily.

    i have towed my truck on a tandem axel trailer with a 2nd gen tacoma with no brakes. and my truck weighs more than a ranger

    Rangers are light. ~3500 lbs
    I personally wouldn't tow it with a SUA though.

    now a question arises for me... why wouldnt you tow with SUA? whats the disadvantages to it?

    18" of wheel travel also means 18" of hitch travel...well not quite, but you get the idea (I hope).

    wait what? jk i understand. but you shouldnt be riding on your bumps... if so your springs are too soft for what your towing!

    And since you're full LT, don't forget you don't have any sway bars at all. Trailers gonna be wandering all over the place on every single bump and pot hole.

    ohh that shit happens to me so bad in my truck! im used to it but everyone else asks why it feels so weird. its gnarly, literally every bump shit will wander everywhere. but you get used to it and you wont even notice it after a while.

    Not sure if you noticed, but SUA springs are soft and flexxy. When's the last time you saw an overload leaf in a SUA pack? And it's not just when you're sitting loaded. Imagine what happens to the ass of the truck if you go over a railroad crossing. Suspension's going to be fully unloaded and then fully loaded with 3500 pounds wagging all over the road behind you.

    I have.
    Single axle trailer with two quads in it. Max load on the trailer is 2k pounds and 200 pound tongue weight. And even with the light load, it is not fun. I'd rather tow my 7000 lb toy hauler with my Tundra than tow a jet ski with my Tacoma.

    Damn..I understand..I really don't want to tow it anyway, was just going to help a friend out. My friends stock Chevy s10 can tow quite a bit too..maybe we do that

    I'm just giving you my experience and 2 cents.
    LT trucks are great, but they certainly have their downsides as well. I'd hate to read a post by you about how you're truck ended up on its side because you were towing a Ford.
