Hate to see you transfer David, but that looks like a nice ride you got there.

Ironhead, if your looking for 2nd gen, good luck, I wasn't able to find anything.

I gotta go by there today to switch out the grills. I mentioned the skid plate. I will see if they will let me take it. If so I will let you know.

Sounds good man! Truth is though, if I was going to go with an old Toyota pickup, I would find a '85 at the newest. I say that because they started doing IFS in late '85 I believe. If you could find one with a solid axle, that would be epic.

Good point sir! Had no idea you found such a good deal. :D

As long as the Alcan doesn't give you more then 2" of lift, regular height 5100's should work fine.

I saw a link on here the other day for DSM with the 5100's for $299. You might want to check out the group buys. The link was still active when I clicked it.

i still have to take it apart to figure out what i need and i dont feel like messing with it today. it just happened about 2 hours ago.. driving down the road. and bam front end starts feeling funny and them come to a fast stop. tried to pull over more on the side of the road wouldnt move.. the front wheels looked a lot worse than // \\ or \\ // ....so i need some parts but dont know what.. good thing i have a warranty on my wheel bearings...

    edit:
lesson learned..dont drive without front axles

    Check out "Barber Auto Recycling"

That's where I got my transfer case.. It's hard to find a Foreign Used Auto salvage in town..

What do you mean without front axle? What all happened!? Damage wise?

so toyota must have sent me to wrong seal for my axle seal or something.. it never went in. so i had to drive i took out the axles/ front shaft. because i didnt want the front diff to go bad while spinning with no gear dope. because the old axle seal was so ate up. didnt want to put the axle back in. so i took both sides out.. all went well for about 42 miles or so...hubs/bearings separated going down the road about 50-55mph.. .. havent taken it apart yet to actually see all the damage.. the way it looks anyways. its sunday i dont like to do much on sundays. its a day of rest.. work monday and tuesday.. so ill take it apart wednesday if the weather is permitting.
