the main advantage is the ability to run full skids, to slide over obstacles.

and this is coming from someone who has both set ups;)

Quick question....is a lift...3 or 6 worth it for a 2wd only....I've already got the pre-runner trd hardware....just having thoughts about what I know my driving skills r up to...personally I usually don't need 4wd and once I get my bumper and winch I definitely won't

if your a pre runner there is nothing better than spindle lifts, pair those with coil overs you have a unbelievable ride, lots of wheel travel and 5-6" of lift

you mis understand, the advantage to the 3" lift is full skids, where with drop bracket lifts not much for skids.

and i did the opposite of most, 6" down to 3" , well its in the works.

I have nothing against 3 inch lifts, but it drives me nuts when the guys with 3 inch lifts talk trash about the 6 inch lifts...when in the end...both lifts have no significant advantage over another.

...of course your lift is going to perform better for you. The only thing your pre runner has to clear is speed bumps in parking lots and maybe the ocassional road kill on the highway.

Hahaha u talk about the 3 inch guys talking shit about the 6 inch guys then u go straight to bashing the pre runner....try doing it 2wd some time....for those of us that have the skill u can do a hell of a lot more than most lifted dbags in 4wd rigs with my stock pre runner....so until u join that club i would watch ur mouth and keep leaning on that t-case...its the only crutch holding u up once the pavement is gone it seems....ill stick with my "shitty pre runner" thanx

Ok...I tow my boat...you tell me how a pre runner is gonna save me when the sand at the boat ramp surges above my tires about 2 or 3 ft deep?

I drive in 2wd all the time no problem...pre runners aren't shitty, this guy was talking about his ome lift being used by elite offroaders which is probably true, but don't you think if you were gonna be offroading that much with an elite kit...you would have 4wd too? Even the best drivers get stuck...If you are trying to tell me that you have that much driving skill in your pre runner to avoid getting stuck then hats off to you.

Lol u said that prerunners are limited to "parking lot speed bumps and the occasional roadkill" I'm saying that a prerunner is capable of more than u seem to be giving it credit for....its not an extreme crawler but in the right hands it will grant acess to many places that a driver that was used to the transfer case crutch syndrome couldn't get to with his own rig

Yea...most people who get pre runners do so for two reasons...one they won't be doing too much wheeling or two they can't afford the 4x4 but want the whole 4x4 suspension deal. Yes I give a lot of credit to pre runners for what they do, but they were designed primarily for road driving. What's wrong with using the 4x4? Well let me say this...would you walk into a dealership and have the money to buy a 4x4, but choose the pre runner instead? And a person with 4x4 is obviously going to use it and not just have it off when wheeling...that would be pointless right?
