Holy Shit! I just looked at this picture again, and it looks like the bottom of my shock is leaking some foamy oil like it got punctured or something.....

They might have the updated bushings. I've had them on for just over a year now (12k miles?). I just got rid of the box when I sold my stock UCAs, probably had the manuf. date on it. Is SPC/Light Racing sending out replacement bushings if needed?

I've been watching a thread that is hopefully going to answer that question. I guess many people have had problems. There is a bushing replacement kit out now if needed.

Shit, another thing to keep my ear out for. A lot of little "issues" can arise from aftermarket stuff, mostly annoying squeaks/pops. It just sucks when a new truck sounds like my grandpa's old beater.

Very true! Thats why I spent last weekend taking apart my rear leafs and putting the rubber pad and grease in them. Sounds so much better now!

My truck sounds like it's falling apart when i hit potholes or speed bumps it's embarrassing but nothing is loose and I have re-torqued every suspension component but it still pops and squeaks.

Yea, I guess it just goes with the territory, esp. if you don't stay on pavement all the time. Plus we get quite a lot of rain in the PNW, unlike the brahs in SoCal who's trucks look brand new for years. I was debating putting some rubber between the leafs this morning, but got lazy. Probably do that if/when I remove the blocks in favor of an extra leaf.

So, I had to put longer studs in the top plate to accommodate the spacers. This of course involved disassembling my coilovers. Call me stupid or reckless, but I didn't want to rent a compressor, or drive to a shop, so I did it the "easy" way by loosening/dropping the LCA and using my floorjack. Honestly, it was WAY too easy, and I didn't feel at risk at any point. It was one of my first experiences working on a vehicle where nothing went wrong, no surprises or mishaps. It makes me regret paying $40 for a shop to assemble them the first time. Plus I realized today that the guy had the orientation of the coil spring way out of whack with what it should be.

Have any of you guys tried this method? (Not looking for criticism, just curious)

Yeah, that's one aspect that has yet to be tested. I know the aluminum bumper is meant to be a "crush-zone", so this would most-likely cause significantly more front-end damage. Then again, I'm skeptical of any product holding up well in front end collision (except Road-Armor bumpers, over-priced/over-hyped, but the pics on their website speak volumes). I just have never had the urge to get a full aftermarket bumper. It's mainly an aesthetic thing for me...

I've had two. Never been impressed by the interior quality or the transmissions. Plus they're a bitch to work on. Half the engine is tucked back under the dash.

Hmm. Seems like an extreme case. The transmission is the least common thing I've read about guys having problems with. For the price, I'm thinking they're probably worth it. Just like a lot of guys buy Frontiers instead of Tacomas I guess.
