So I searched this site high and low looking for a place that I would have liked to install a CB....couldn't find one I liked so I decided to build a place for it!:)
Make a cardboard template.....strange angles in here...DCLB BTW....
Transfer the cardboard template to pressboard....
Build the box...of course trying to shoot the nails straight helps...
Build and install shelf for CB...notice lip on back to set the depth of CB.
Dry fit...note I cut off corners otherwise it won't go in......
$10 external speakers....from Wal Mart...cheaper than the CB Speakers....
Build a shelf/cavity for the speakers.
Install speakers....a little velcro helps to secure them for the bumps......Note holes for speakers.
Industrial spray adhesive...got the Mrs. to help on this step.....

    Grey felt...about $15 for 2 yards...from Joann's Fabric...thanks again to the Mrs....
Tuck and trim...a power stapler sure does help for this step.....
Faceplate...again a little velcro here helps...
Installed with no screws, brackets, or holes!

Easy access for driver or passenger...CB or the entire box can be removed if needed.

Rarely....The box is easy enough to slide out, just have to disconnect power cord and antenna from CB and the top access panel is velcroed on for easy access....The box is sized so I can still flip drivers side back seat to get to tool box etc....

I really like that set up. I thought that I saw some holes for speakers, that is even better for hearing it. you can actually put an adult back there and they can sit around that. Good job!!!

I thought about this set up too but putting the face under stereo area. I was thinking about detaching the face and putting the brains under the seat then coming up with some kind of auxiliary speakers in a spot where there would be no problems with me hearing the actual CB.

Let me think about this one...I have a full time salary job that I work > 50 hours per week, and am going to school to get another degree.

And flat track motorcycle racing season starts Sunday!

Time is a luxury for me....I probably do not have the time.

I would be willing to trace the template of the side profile and send to you though....

just curious as to what/where you tapped in for power for the cb since you put it in the backseat per se? or did you just run a very long length all the way to the front of the truck?

I ran a black and red wire from a grounding bolt and fuse # 28 under driver's side dash, zip tied up under dash, ran along under center console, comes out under the back of the console butted and taped to the trimmed CB plug black and red wires. If I pull the box out I can tuck the wire under driver's seat or the rug in the back seat.

The antenna is on the back window driver's side. Pulled the panel behind the seat and tucked the antenna cable behind the panel, coming out behind the seat, coiled and zip tied extra cable, ran cable under/between the split in the back seat to the box.
