It kooks like they are bolted to the bed itself. And the whole bed is that plastic crap correct? So that looks like a no.

I'm gonna see about running the cable in the rail system to the passenger side. That will keep it on the drivers side, which looks better, and use more up of the cable

Whole bed is the composite material. Not sure where people have been grounding.

I'm going to ground mine to the bole that holds the bed to the frame behind the cab. you could also use a no ground antenna.

Went to play in the snow yesterday. It was wet and heavy. We made it up about 1/4 of the way to our usually spot. We weren't able to stay afloat on the snow so we plowed most of the way and it became boring after a while.

This is what the bottom looked like.

About a quarter of the way up it looked like this.

Here is where I found a good bolt to ground to. I took my magnetic level around testing places to make sure they were metal. The outside of the bed is metal where the inside is the composite material.

And here is my final set up. I drilled a small hole in the end caps of the rail system so I can keep the cable as hidden as possible. I think it came out fairly well.

    crap bolted and welded together....
True, but one the frontside of the bed the bolts go thru the rails and into metal. Where Mitch has it mounted where I do, and I ran my ground through a rail bolt right in the same spot.

I think its the closest spot. I'm gonna check the swr tonight after work. Hopefully I'm a little closer to 3 this time. I already know the antenna is too short is temporary

no problem. I wish Craigslist would let you search by state. It would make it so much easier

That's a good option as well. That's a lot of driving for 2 nights though.

Remember. On the train you can get hammered while going to your destination :D
