I'm painting the wheels et al black soon.

And I kinda like that yellowish color... reminds me of smoker's teeth.

    Character!

I do like the look of that and have been contemplating it.

But I'm going to go all black and maybe incorporate a TRD sticker on one of the spokes. Saw a member here who did that and it looked SICK!

    I agree.

I think I'm going to go with a satin like yours.

Not too flat but not glossy.

No offense to boxrocket (his rig is insane) but it bothers me when the wheels are black glossy and the tires are more faded.

Removed the decaying rear bumper and replaced it with the bumper 45acp gave to me. Thanks Jon! It lives on, dude...

    Paint.

Took 320 fine grit sandpaper to the handles. Used a tack cloth to clean it of any dust.

    Three light coats of primer

Three light coats of rustoleum semi-gloss

No clear coat... which will probably end up being their demise.

Hey... did you paint your exhaust tip? Or is that just the lighting?

This is what I plan on doing (lest the TRD detail)... cause mine is just a rusted piece of crap right now... looks awful.

    Things I've learned:

    1. Spring in Colorado is not a good time to spray paint anything. It's always breezy and there's always some sort of pollen or tree part flying around.

    2. I really need some indoor space to set up a make-shift paint booth. (see #1)

    3. I am nowhere near patient enough to ever be a good spray painter.

    4. Mechanics aside, "good enough" is fine by me (see #3)

So I couldn't stand the gray/blue shifter boot(s) in contrast with the black console assembly and trim. So I vinyl dyed the shifter boot(s) black

    photo-33_806621c08c59f5931668d81b4eef3f0b8ce7e4a1.jpg

Installed (looks so much better in person than in this pic). Loving the black shifter boot(s)

    photo-16-1_3e2b8569d3cb4de2d6e934519e31cd7cb97e7d94.jpg

Next on the list to potentially ruin spray painting was the faded cowl.

    Before:

    After:

Also did my wiper arms, as you can (hopefully) discern above ^
