"This listing is Only for the little Rubber Cup Holder Inserts and Nothing else!"

Doesn't look like a great deal after all, lol.

Well I might just have to jump on that. I guess I should actually look around before I start to complain about finding car parts. Next step would be the seats. Maybe ill steal the ones outta my friends '01 Tacoma... :D

EDIT: Turns out the ad is only for the little black rubber cup holder inserts. Damn.

I looked over their shipping details and didn't see AK or HI excluded

lol, wtf? I'm such a douche canoe... I didn't read the whole title... just got my panties all twistified when I saw the picture.

Makes me feel better about asking $40 for mine.

Also... $30 for those fucking things? I just paid $2.49 for a 1/8" x 6" x 6" rubber gasket material and can make two full sets.

Yeah that listing is not what you want... those are for the tabs only.

Keep searching... like I said, it took me over 6 years (and 2 on TW) of hunting to find a console assembly at a good price.

Isn't that one of Newton's laws? if it seems to good to be true it probably is? Haha but it's all good the seats don't bother me too much. Just the cup holders

    Murphy's Law ;)

A last ditch resort would have been to find some oversized koozies and super glue them into the square cup holders. I was honestly about a few days away from doing so before I found my console.

Was that rubber sheet black? I have looked at Lowes, Home Depot, and other hardware stores and can only find a sheet that is the color of a pencil eraser. And once you cut into it, it flakes like an eraser does...It is ugly as hell, but I dipped them in plastidip and it has started to peel off. I'm going to have to do it again soon...I'm going to try my local rubber supply store (no, not those rubbers) to see if they'll sell me a small sheet rather than bulk.

    Yeah it's black.

We have a great hardware store here, which amazingly sells everything. In the plumbing dept they have rubber gasket material in square sheets. 6x6 or 12x12. They also have varying thicknesses from 1/16" all the way up to 3/4". (they also have neoprene which I'm going to get to line the bottom of the inside of the consoles.

1/8" is what you want, and a 6" x 6" sheet will yield two full sets of tabs.

I know what you saw at Hommie D and Lowes. It's 1/16" and exactly eraser color. That shit is cheap. I have no idea why you'd even use that as a gasket for plumbing.

If you want, I'll cut you out a set from the remaining material I have (won't be perfect :) ) and send it to you free - assuming sending shit to Alaska isn't that insane

Wow, thanks! I may have to take you up on that, but let me check a few places first. If I can't find any, I can at least send you a few bucks if need be. You could probably just put them in an envelope and mail it for like 2 bucks, but I'll let you know.

If it's only a few bucks don't worry about it.

See if you have any luck up there, if not just let me know.

Like I said in the PM... so much good karma has come my way from TW members, it's about time I able to pay it forward in kind.

I only became a member of TW recently but I've been reading all sorts of threads on here for months and it seems like the guys and gals on here are truly one of a kind. Nothing but quick responses with detailed accurate information.

I've learned so much from so many good people here.

Not to mention my first real experience with a TW member was 45acp. At the time he was living in Wyoming and ended up driving down to the foothills of Denver to visit his family. On the way down he stopped by my house and dropped off his stock rear bumper and brackets for me. For free. Because he saw a picture of my beat up rear bumper in a thread and PM'd me about it. Unbelievable.

But you really want to know what kind of community this place is? Check out some of the "Help, I'm stuck and stranded on a trail" threads. Within minutes there are members posting possible mechanical solutions as well as rallying up locals (to where the trail is) to go rescue the person. The one thread I remember reading, a guy in a serious trail rig, drove 3 hours each way to the trailhead... 4-wheeled in, and ended up pulling out a stranded member.

That shit's real people, right there.

Why not Satin? It's low gloss. Doesn't look cheesy, and doesn't scratch and show scuffs like flat.
