Truck runs better after wheelin?

Is it possible my truck runs better after its first real wheelin trip!?

I have an 08 regular cab 4x4 6 lug that I took it to Hollister this past weekend. Tooled around the 4x4 course and took up and down some good trails. Might have been the first time the truck had ever been in 4L . It used to feel kind of tight and rigid. It feels looser now, but in a good way, not sloppy, but smoother. Its a manual and shifting feels a little smoother too. I guess it just feels broken in now. I attempted some pretty good stuff with my stock truck. ALMOST made it up everything, but gave it a good go, really pushed the truck. I was extremely impressed with what the truck could do with the only "upgrade" being Dynapro ATMs.

I guess Im just wondering if anyone had the same feeling after putting the truck through the some abnormal stuff?

 

My two thoughts.

1) Your suspension, sway bars, and other components may have like you said 'broken in'. I highly doubt this... Since the truck is 4 years old.

2) You were just offroad... Everything on road will feel much softer and smoother now.

i feel the same way as you! .. i think boshak is right tho bouncin all over in the woods a street will feel so much smoother!

Ha! I know being back on road will feel way smoother. I just feel like the guy I bought the truck off never even put it in 4L. I swear it feels like a better truck now! An even if it is in my head, it still feels gooooood

I am also very impressed on how Rucas can handle his truck on some of those trails.

I know I would be stranded because my clutch would be smelling awful.

haha well I made that mistake the first time and wheeled hollister in 4hi. burnt hella clutch. But in 4lo its way easier. in first gear im pretty sure you only need to get up to like 900rpm to get rolling.

 

My first attempt was in 4H. My clutch smelt melted. Still works thank god. Second attempt was 4L. Almost made it. I wanted to start in 2nd gear but I thought I would stall out. That shit was hella fun. I hit the same trail going down hill.

My truck runs better. Feels more fluid. I dont care what no one says!
