GoPro Hero2 arrived in the mail. Mounted it on a slider and recorded the commute home. Then took it through a car wash. The camera is as good as advertised.

 

x2..... Mine's starting to look like it was sand blasted..... Oh wait... That happens every winter.

 

Did you look at any other covers and, if so, why did you pick the Fibermax? I'm shopping and can't make up my mind.

 

I hope the backflips have improved. I liked the design, but the double-sided tape didnt make it past the first summer(I ended up using screws to reinforce the joints, worked well) . There was a lot of leaks in the winter, but that was not unexpected. closing it became hard when the locking tabs lost the lubrication. I still think it is the best looking cover.

I have an "Advanced" folding cover. You can see it my gallery. I like it but wouldn't buy another. Too many little things make it miss the mark of a great cover. Leaks. The latch system. The rubber is starting to fail on the hinges and seals.
For the cost I expected better. I might just go to a tool box anyway.

 

Last 2 days I put 1500+ miles on it moving to denver with the quad in the back and my 5x8 enclosed in tow .... did great. Once I move into a place and unpack it needs to be washed bad haha

 

Thanks for all the windshield comments guys, it's been a long time coming! Driving into the sun has been a bitch since I bought the Toy! Finally got a stone chip to start a long crack!

And yeah I'd been looking and researching for probably close to a year before I made my decsion. But great deal through truckaddons.com if your interested. I think the bottom line with covers is that every single design has drawbacks so its a matter of what your priorities are.
I wanted full bed access and needed to be able to use under a rack system. With the plastic factory bedrail caps removed I did have some fit issues that I'm working on and think I have a good solution, but time will tell.
3 year warranty was attractive as well.

 

Installed my "new to me" Bedrug.

 

Replaced my EPDM isolation strips on my Dakars , no more squeaky

 

Oil change, All zerks greased, Tires rotated and balanced, up next is an another alignment (4 in 3 months) damn modifications.

i removed the rear chrome bumper for sandblasting in preparation for a spray bedliner application. very boring
