oh, i bought that HF grider and a d ring tow reciever thing today. gonna work on my truck in between home work sessions tomorrow and enjoy my day off work and school. sliders here I come!

Yeah, I'm in Poky and my parents are in Malad, which is even closer.

I'm not sure where the trail starts but I assumed I would be leaving my taco somewhere in Moab.

I meant SLC isn't very mormon compared to the rest of Utah, like percentage wise. Of all the non mormons in Utah the majority of them are clustered in SLC. (and Dixie State and USU haha, major party schools)

 

I hear you can make $50-$100 an hour begging on the street in SLC. It's supposed to be the most profitable town in the US for begging.

Chris is right just stats and I don't really find much negative about them. haha.

 

I've never actually be to SLC. I've been to Lagoon many times and I've passed it by on the freeway a couple times. Oh and I have been in their airport I don't know how many times.

 

oh haha you dont need to make me feel better. I love SLC because it has every single out door activity I care about all in one place. Utah is pretty amazing. I dont care about the statistics one bit as long as i can get a job im all good.

 

bahahahahaha!!! So My section chief is a state trooper in Pocatello. He got a call in about a pickup that wasn't driving very state down the road in town. He found them just as they were about to get back on the freeway and pulled them over. He walked up the to vehicle and he said on the video you can see him walk up to the vehicle and then hear him say "holy shit!" They had over 130lbs of marijuana in the back seat, it was just right out in the open. They were both illegal mexicans. I don't remember if they were coming from Canada and heading to the Southeast states or vice versa, but they had made the trip several times before I guess.

Since I've never changed the lower bjs on a 1st gen and I've never changed the uppers on a 2nd gen, I can't make a fair comparison. What I have changed (and it was very recent) is the upper ball joints on a 1st gen. I can say that we really underestimated the difficulty of that job.

That video is only marginally helpful because the design of the 1st gen bj is a lot different from what it showed as well as the 2nd gen design.

To seperate the bj from that UCA requires a three arm puller.



For the rest of the job you have a couple of options. The bj has to be pressed out of the spindle/knuckle. They do make bj presses you can rent or buy and this might work.



What I ended up doing is removing the spindle from the truck and having a shop press out the old and press in the new.

Replacing the upper ball joints on a 1st gen is a big, big deal.

There is a parking area near the trailhead for white rim where you can park your vehicle if you decide to ride with ben or adam. That is where we will be leaving the Tundra and the trailer.
