Once you see the How To on here, it is pretty easy. I am NOT mechanically inclined at all and I was able to put a front and rear lift on my Tacoma. It is a pain in the butt but not too hard.

Chris4x4 has a how to on here somewhere.

The rear shocks are easy! Front ones suck!

I took the strut off, but stopped there. :D

    Great post Chris! Thanks.

Didn't see the spring comp in the pics, did you use them prior to unbolting any of the bolts on the strut?

Also, did you need a front end alignment?

    Thanks again!

Don't need to compress the spring to take the strut out- The note about NOT removing the central bolt is VITAL. If you open that bolt the spring will let go-As long as that bolt is there the spring will stay compressed.
Once it's out you can compress the spring and remove the bolt/top plate.

And yeah....Alignment is a good idea- You are removing many of the connections between the tire and the frame...It might end up OK....but it might not. You can drive it after you are done and see how it feels...og from there.
