Looking for a tonneau cover for my 09 quad cab short bed, and I finally settled on Undercover. But after looking at the website I saw that there are two models, the undercover classic and the SE. Anyone have any opinions on which is preffereable? I like the look of the classic better, but I preffer the single lock of the SE.

Any opinions or experiences would be great. Also, if anyone could reccomend an online dealer that would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    Buckeye.

Get a advantage accessories like I have and never have to deal with hardware, installations or anything time consuming ever again. I woudl NEVER buy anything else. This thing fits right into the factory tracks and installs/uninstalls in seconds. Everyone else is working too hard.

Mines a hardcover and looks great on my truck IMO. I can stand on the damn thing.

    Thanks

The SE has the hinges on the inside where the regular one has the hinges on the outside that are secured with little wire springs that anyone can remove.

The Classic and the SE have the exact same hinges and struts, they are on the inside, you cannot see them when it is closed. The difference is the design on top, and a key lock in the center on the SE. The Classic has two key locks, one on each side. I have owned the Classic, it is great, keeps the bed dry and your items secure.

I got the SE, cause I prefer the new look over the Classic, but of course that's just a matter of opinion. I definitely prefer the single lock and the lack of external circular spring clip thingys as mentioned. I'm not familiar with the Advantage, but the Undercover mounts also use the factory tracks and I bet just as strong and light. (The add shows 6 guys standing on it). Course it might have caved in right after the add picture! $709.95 total from 4wheelonline.com I have no complaints so far.

I got undercover on cl hardly used for 350. I was going to make this purchase anyway so this was the deal of the year for me. I can remove and install by myself. I weigh 215 lbs. and I was jumping up and down on it the other day just to test it out. It's been on there for about 4 months now. Deal of the year. This pic has jr. standing on it.

I am assuming the Hard Hat Advantage is the one mentioned above. I have been looking for a cover myself and the undercover is
one of my top choices. The hard hat looks pretty cool too. I guess you would need a pop n lock to make it more secure though.

If I remember right, the Classic won't work with the large tie-downs that ride on the rail, because of a interference problem, so you have to buy the small ones.

Is the SE any different? Can you still use all of the large tie-downs without any problems?

Yeah I'm looking to get a cover that I can still use the factory rail system with. I have the cargo divider and would like to be able to use that, even if it's only when the cover is removed. Most, if not all, of the roll up ones I've researched restrict use of the rails even when rolled up. The SE looks promising.

The Access Limited is a soft Tonneau that still allows for the use of the rail system...

The Undercover tonneaus will block the front end of your factory tracks due to its mounting hardware.

Just wanted to add that despite the key lock etc the SE
are easy to break into and are not secure. Had mine broken
into recently, the aluminum rods that hold it down bend
with little effort, and is enough to get the tailgate down.

    Consider this when choosing it.

Rims and tires , exhaust , stereo , Bhlm ,Changed carpet to black from grey. toytec ultimate lift kit. Allpro front bumper and light bar. In process of blacking out interior. Otrattw switches, black vinyl armrest mod, clazzio leather seat covers with heaters, flowmaster dual exhaust, hornblasters train horns,
Have the undercover classic. Was on it when I bought the truck. Locks on back are worthless because front hinge easily unhooked. But you can stand on it and it doesnt move.

Any cover ... regardless on the brand, construction material, style, etc. is not going to be perfect. If someone wants in, they are getting in plain and simple.

Agreed. My main concerns are how weather tight it is and that it not completely negate the utility of the track system.
Thanks I'll check that one out.
