a couple people in nyc, its kind of understandable, if its not nailed down kinda thing
but i know three off the top of my head upstate(the country) in the last couple years, and that i dont understand, the amount of gas and trouble to get to a junk or scrap yard
my gf's moms rear wiper arm was jacked off her 4runner last week
i posted a thread in the 4runner askin for some help replacin it whatnot
but really man thieves and liars suck balls

and i cant lock my tg with hose clamp cause i take it off at the dump every couple days
maybe ill wait till someone with a popnlock leaves their keys in it, eh eff it ill steal the whole truck, and 10% of their soul while im at it

I didn't want mine to get stolen so I went outside and kicked a big ass dent into it. Now nobody wants it and I can sleep tight.

Did the hose clamp mod with such an angle you have to have a swivel on your short socket to get it off, also have the pop lock.

ok guys if there are stupid retards on here that seal tail gates your STUPID..lol
I ordered a tailgate lock but had to wait because it had the camera hole on the oppsite side so i had to wait but i had a temp fixer that the guy at the dealer told me to do..

anyways I just went and to a local hardware store and got some gear clamps and put them around the 2 hinges on the truck hinge.. and they cant steal your tail gate unless they have the proper screw driver or racet..lol hope this helps.

I looked at the Pop and Locks recently.. The finish of the lock didn't look all that great and I went to several locations to see if I could pick up one that didn't look like it needed to be painted... Anyone else have this problem??
I'm probably gunna get one anyways because I live in the city.... It's just asking to get stolen...... :S

Definitely get the power Pop&Lock. The handle and camera position stay stock. You just have to install the lock within the tailgate.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
I put the hose clamp on my tail gate last week. For my area and what little I park in high risk areas I think this will be fine for me. I figure if its not super quick and easy they'll move on.

That's the best attitude to have. The best you can hope for is a deterrent to theft. If someone really wants or needs your stuff... they'll get it. At the end of the day, locks keep honest people honest, and nothing more.

I have a tonneau cover on my truck. I know that it may not keep someone out but they would have to work pretty damn hard to get at my tailgate. That's good knowing that he was caught. It's too bad that Toyota wouldn't do anything to curb the problem, you know like adding a locking tailgate.

that sucks-I waited and finally I bought one for my new truck and now worry all the time it will be gone- I know there is a mod for this but I just don't want to do it. Maybe someone can hook you up with discounted price.

Which is why I'll put the Leer topper on with dual lock handles. That should stop the thieves.
