    Fabbing an IFS skid up...

    3/16s plate - roughly the same design as Relentless's...

    With his skid, you lose the center jack point. It's covered by the skid.
    Contemplating cutting out a hole for access to that jack point. Leaning more towards not cutting though. It'll weaken the overall skid plate, and will create a place for mud and shat to collect. Have an ARB with
    Hi-Lift points, so I can jack from there if need be...

    Will post up some pics when finished - hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

    Damn, new 255s, building sliders and a skid all in one week. Can you hear the money being thrown at my truck?

    I know. It's like crack...

    Started the day by having a pipe bender explode, was lucky was more of an "oh shit" moment, than a piece of steel embedded in my skull.... Interesting things happen when you subject Chinese welds to 12 Tons of pressure.

    Yeah. Screw the jack point. Flared the edges 45 degrees, with an inch of bend. It really gave the plate some rigidity. It's all relative - 3/16s plate on this truck should survive the rapture. It's beef.

    Wish those lights were here now. Excited to see the 255 KM2s...can't beat Amazon's free shipping to Kodiak.

    Glad I'm going to spend the summer fishing so I can't throw any more money at the truck...paint's getting pretty chipped ha.

    I dunno how you can get free shipping up there but I still get raped for having it shipped half that distance even though it's still coming through my neck of the woods anyways. Fucking NAFTA bullshit.

    I'm looking forward to my lights as well. Not sure if I want the HIDs or the LEDs yet though. Decisions decisions.

    Will do got a new lady friend coming over for dinner ha.

    Have about 5 hours in at the moment, would have gone faster if I had gotten the angles sheet-broken in - but the only shop in town with a big enough brake is tied up for weeks, and wanted an hour of labor to do two brakes. So...ended up welding and grinding smooth. Hoping to be painting by tomorrow afternoon.

    It's amazing - expected this to be a wham bam project. After all, its a skid plate. Its a lot more time consuming when you design from scratch!

    Go HIDs! I'm not a fan of the cool color temps of LEDs... When I switched from 6000k to 4300k Osrams in my FX-Rs I was truly blown away...

    Yeah, but I like that they're less power draw, more vibration resistant and don't need to warm up or have any issues being turned on and off frequently.

    I have to admit I prefer yellower lights too, even regular HIDs piss me off for their colour. Too blueish white. Too hard on the eyes at night. And I do a lot of night driving.

    I have no sympathy for asshats running those f'ing Plug and Play HIDs. There real popular up in the oil patch around Whitehorse. The glare was so bad most of the time I had to pull off and stop. Just about every truck had em up there.

    Yeah...agreed. Fucking welded up my hangers and they're too short... Spent about two hours trying to force it on, was rubbing the diff pretty good.

    Gonna go fan up some new hangers to give things more room.
