Hey guys! Just bought myself my first new vehicle. 2012 Tacoma, Magnetic Grey Metallic, Double cab, Sport. Its on the basic Revtek Lift kit, 15 TRD off-road alloys, and black double step nerf bars. I've had my eye on this truck for awhile and was debating buying one. Well I walked onto the dealership lot and BOOM... it was sitting there. To a tee thee exact truck I wanted. I couldn't believe it. So I decided now was the time to buy it.

A little about myself. My name is Jordan, I am 20 years old and I work for Western Washington Toyota, as well as O'reilly auto parts. I graduated in 2010 and will be going to college to get my basic AA degree.

I have always been in toyotas, ever since I was a little guy, so its no wonder I still drive em today. My first love is and always will be my supra. Its pictured below. It has its fair share of mods done to it and is currently under going a complete turbo build. 60-1 P trim turbo, complete fuel system, exhaust, suspension etc. Shooting for 450 whp tuned on MAFT Pro.

Here is a picture of myself and my grandpa. One big toyota family :)

Here is the Supra. Its a 1990 5spd Turbo. Engine has been rebuilt, ARP headstuds and metal headgasket. only 130,000 miles on her!
    20120324_152939-2_7d6c171f6b4deef3cc030bf8fd9be1c844e26970.jpg

And finally the reason I am here. My Tacoma. The Day I bought her.

Trucks are definitely new to me. I drive em all the time at work but as far as upgrades for them I just know the basics. I know supras and most other cars better than anything but Trucks are definitely a weak point in my toyota experience. So I am ready to learn!

    Thanks man :)

Nope, they are the TRD optional rims. However they are 16'' rims, its was a typo.

Oh, well eff em :p I was unaware of the name. They were on the truck and I knew I wanted them since I saw them in the parts department when I was at work one day.

Net step for me will be a front bully bar or bumper guard of some sort with some aftermarket HID fogs. Could somebody throw me a link or two to some good aftermarket sites.

Like I said for supras or other cars.... I could ramble off website after website. but for trucks Im a little lost. But I learn quickly so Ill shut up real fast lol

Don't start spending money on parts that you will regret. I came from the import scene too and It was a shock seeing some of the modifications people would do. :puke:Pick and choose what looks good to you.
Oh and definitely don't get a bull bar. Any questions just PM me Im from WA too. :)

I just got HID'd in my fogs installed today (off road use mostly) from ddm. I can vouch for their horrible customer service. weeks to get a pair of hid's.

I would like to see someone do a retrofit foglight with projector, same with the headlights. 3000k fogs would be sweet with some 6000k headlights. Even the normal 4300k look 10x better than any stock headlight.

I just want some sort of a tubed from bumper guard to attache some off-road lights. I need something to protect the front of my tacoma! but Ive been looking around the forums and there seems to be a heap of information.

Im used to MK3 supras where you have to dig and dig... I tend to forget Tacoma's are much easier to find info on because they aren't 22 years old like my supra lol

You're late on that. People have done that plenty. Retrofitted Headlights and Fogs.

Welcome and you'll find this place a money pit!

    Its been done, http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/187831-fog-light-retrofit.html

And personally instead of a bullbar i would go with an avid offroad light bar

Thank you for all of the links, that front bar is exactly what I am looking for. And it seems to look like it would work with the Toyota skid plates.

also, since technically this is a 3rd gen although a vast majority of the truck is the same as a Second Gen, will there be a 3rd gen specific section of the forums made to insure fitment of certain bumpers, grills, headlights and other things that vary between the 2nd and 3rd gens?
