Sorry for the diversion, but your avatar always makes me think I'm having some sort of demented flashback. :D

Put the armor to the test at the TW Moab meet. All in all it did it's job well. I tagged the bedsides on a couple of overly aggressive rocks that reached out and bit me. Little late for extra bedside protection at this point but I might still add some at some point.

All of my damage was superficial, so no big deal but here it is. Pretty evident how important protection can be. I'm definitely glad I've spent the time building a lot of this and for the other protection I've got.

Got this one on "Body Snatcher" on the Golden Spike run

How much do you like having a double cab? Pro's vs. Con's? The looks of them are starting to grow on me, but the extended cabs are more reminiscent to me because of my 96 Tacoma I drove.

Thanks, but if you're gonna make it just like mine you'll need to start with a 4wd conversion. ;)

I love the double cab! I needed it because of 4 kids, but even if I didn't have the kids I'd have the double cab because the space makes it so much more versatile. I love the rear deck I built for my fridge and other gear for long trips. I pull the rear seats and bolt in the deck and it makes it really nice for securing the gear that stays in the cab. A fridge can fit in an extra cab but it would be tight and also be a total pain to get to. It's nice to just open the door and have full access to everything without having to reach over the front seats.

the homemade protection survived moab! sweet. I wish i could buy the skids and bumper you fabbed up somewhere..... the 33x10.5 km2s look sick btw. Better than the 255/85R16s. perfect looking size. How is the stock gearing handling them? Saw you did some pretty steep stuff in Moab.

Are you locked in the front? saw the vid of you hitting golden crack, and it looked like you it was but can't be sure. Your first page build thread doesn't seem to say.

btw congrats on the baja 1000 thing, thats epic

I have no complaints about the stock gearing with the 33's. The auto trans hides a lot in the rocks.

I do not have a front locker yet. Not sure if I'll ever add one while it's still IFS. If I ever do a solid axle then I'll lock it up.
