    Right?! Fucking creepy.

I'm waiting to hear the story from the guy that was attacked. I'm wondering how the hell that whole thing even started.

You'll have more time...I imagine a zombie could make it here in 8 hours or so depending on how many times he gets distracted.

There's about a million things I'd like to carry every day. Something not mentioned is valve cores for the tires (and the core tool), a selection of fuses. A tire repair kit I'm sure has been mentioned, a small compressor, Fix a Flat, maybe strapon chains instead of the full chains, a slimjim, the list goes on and on. Spare eyeglasses, an eyeglass repair kit, magnifying glass, spare wiper blades, rubber cement, velcro, sewing kit, shoelaces, double-side tape, a bag of dry pinto beans, some jerky. The list is almost endless.

Basically I guess carry a big hiking backpack loaded with whatever you would put in your backpack for a fiveday pack, plus vehicle-related items, and MRE's.

Wool book #6 just came out. It is a prequel to the others.

I just finished " Unbroken". An amazing book, true story during WWII, about an olympic runner becomes a bombardier for the army air core. his plane crashes in the pacific, floats in a raft for weeks, gets picked up by the japs and is a POW.

    I am currently reading "Divergence".

Having the right gear with you can be life or death in the worst case scenarios. I tend to be on the prepared (my family says paranoid haha) side, just another thing to think about is experience.

Keeping your cool and having rehearsed scenarios, at least mentally prepared, is just as important as having a bunch of gear.

Put yourselves (and wives/kids/siblings) in scenarios, learn medical skills etc.

I'm not saying traumatize your family and mock kidnap them or get them so freaked out they'll lose it but without knowing what to do and being versatile all the gear in the world won't do jack for you.

    My. 02
