GB FEELER:Mobile Electronics (Radio's, Speakers, Alarms, Subs, etc)

I have been in the Mobile Electronics Industry for several years and now do it as a side business to help out other members and friends. I currently offer professional installation services for just about anything related to electronics (SEE HERE!) but most importantly I offer discounted products to anyone who pays for installation. I can do this because I still have connections with a few different shops. One of them is a major distributer very high end shop and therefore already offers great deals, but with my connection I can get things even cheaper. I also know someone who makes custom sub boxes and can accurately calculate required cubic air space and true port dimensions for perfect acoustical performance.

What I am trying to figure out is would it be worth it to attempt to set up special pricing for TW members who purchase through here. Doing this will require some major work on my part so I need to see who is interested so I can decide if I should proceed or not.

I have decided that it would be too difficult to create a specific GB for any one product because because the Mobile Electronics Industry has such a vast majority of products and brands that not enough people will be looking to get the same product at one time. Some products that may be included in this if it works would be:
-Head Units (Basic single din to full Navigation AV models)
-Speakers
-Subwoofers
-Alarms (plus add-on modules and accessories)
-Parts (dash kits, harness', antennas, steering wheel control modules, AV bypass modules, head unit add-ons such as bluetooth and navi modules, sound prosessors, EQ's, and more)

-I-pod/AUX/other OEM integration modules

-Satellite Radio
-Flip-down AV rear seat ant and Headrest monitors

If you already have a system, what else would you consider buying/adding to it and what Brands do you already use?

What products do you think would sell the most?

How much of a discount would you expect vs other retailers (such as Crutchfield) in order to make this GB/Vendor setup work?

Any suggestions, recommendations, or other comments that may help?

Products will most likely be shipped directly to you or available for local pickup as well. Transactions will most likely be handled through the vendor, not me. If you are interested please let me know so I can present the information to the vendor to attempt to set up something for us. This could be HUGE, but i need your feedback!!

That's extremely cool of you. I don't have a set up in my truck yet. It's been in the back of my mind for a while now. Would this discount be an ongoing thing or offered for a limited time only?

This would most likely be an ongoing sale/promotion. What I plan to do is have the shop set up a special link or provide a special promo code on their website. They may choose to have it only work for XX amount of time, the change the promo, but thats up to them. This is just to get an idea if I should even take the time to attempt to set this up with the owner. I need to show him this thread will all the interest and sell him on the idea of offering mass discounts. I do this already but on a much smaller scale. He allows me to purchase items at just above cost and sell them once I have the job set up, but this would obviously be much bigger.

Follow this thread and if/when I get this started, a link or info will be posted here for purchase instructions. Im not sure on the Hybrid Technologies and Zed Leviathan, but the rest should be good to go

The alarms should be fine and they are an authorized JL dealer so if they dont stock the Cleansweep it should be able to be ordered no problem. Ill keep everyone posted.

Its going to take some time to set this up, but keep everything coming guy, good start!! The more interest the more likely this will work!

 

I'd be interested in some replacements for my stock speakers, probably just some regular speakers to accommodate all types of music. Also a new head unit would be nice. I'm open to suggestions, but price would be an issue. If we cdan work something out can I give you a price and you build me a little package?

 

I have done this for several member already. If this GB/Vendor setup does not work or does not have enough interest, I will just continue discounts on a 1 on 1 basis. PM me your total budget and what your looking to achieve such as do you want ipod connection on your radio, etc...

 

This would be an awesome hook up. This is very generous of you to offer this to all of us. Thank you even if it doesn't work out. I would be interested is some audio equipment as well. Hopefully this kicks up soon.

Can you get discounts on amateur radios?..particularly Yaesu brand radios

 

Id be down to get a new head unit. Ill be watching to see what happens!

 

I'm interested in a new head unit, speakers and amp. I'm in socal as well, so local hookups on install is an even bigger bonus! Very interested and I'm subbing this to keep up!

As for how big of a discount, only the seller knows how much of a discount we are actually getting, since most people how no idea what cost is for specific items.

Well hopefully it all works out. Im still working on everything. If I cant get an official TW discount set up, I can still do individual hook up, but only for stuff that I would be installing most likely

 

I'd be interested in a pioneer avh-4400 if you get this thing rolling. Might not be immediately but i've been eyeballing that one for a long time.
