Congrats!! Keep the honeymoon going for as long as you can!! It starts to take work to keep things happy after that. But the work is worth it (usually, or so says the guy that isn't married anymore!)

Electrical guru's, I have a question for joo!

I am looking to do the TPMS mod ahead of installing the new wheels/tires ect on my rig. I have read up on a couple of variants and this one has my attention.

I know I have +5v running into my head unit. I'm wanting to tap into that to feed into the TPMS light to keep it dumb. I don't think the draw on an LED is going to be noticeable to the head unit but I would like someone else to chime in before I start an electrical fire in my truck.

any of you cracker wire a remote switch for your winching needs in da cab?
if so how u do it....
i know i need on 3 pos switch for in / out / off and another on / off switch to kill power...
but hows it all get wired to the seloniod

idk but just curious as to why you wanna disable it? i still have mine and never had a prob with it only time the light has come on is when i intentionally aired down are URE

 

Prob just a solenoid for the main power to the winch, and another solenoid for the in out motor. Im doing mine prob next week so I will get with ya if I figure it out. PM Dbronzo and see how he did his, that who I am going off of for mine I think.

 

i disabled mine because i dont have the sensors in and got tired of seeing the light. mines was easy to do. cut a wire and ground it out. i dont think that way works after the 2006 models tho

 

that i understand. when i put my new wheels on they swapped the sensors over free.

 

Just broke my windshield putting on the rear view mirror relocate bracket FML!

 

i ordered tires and rims and they came mounted and balanced. didnt feel the need to remove tires from two sets of rims and have them both remounted.

 

RuggedT has his winch controls in the cab as well as a dual battery setup

 

i just saw a popo pullin over some one on my way to work. probably abusing their power. Anyone you know Enders?

I haven't installed min into the cab yet, but Dennis did exactly what you are talking about. He used the original wired remote and opened it up to tap into the wires. He told me he used a multi-meter to find out what is what. You are right though, you will need an on and off switch as well as an in and out switch.

 

I would buy this package but I hate the switch, the toggle makes me feel like a ricer with fake boost.

 

just get a different switch/switches to accomplish it. the wiring and all that tho is nice to use

My mirror fell off like 3 months after getting my truck. Took it to the dealer and instead of using the industrial double sided goo, not really tape but similar, they used a glass adhesive to put the mirror stud back on the glass. Seemed fine until today. Took the mirror off and slid the extension bracket on and the glass popped like a gun went off. I wasn't tightening the torx screw or nothing. It just popped.


I think the heat we've had the past few days may have made the adhesive expand and Be under pressure...
