I know. I posted a video that explains how TCC lockup works. He REALLY put his foot in his mouth now proving that HE is the one that does not understand how a TC works!!

I think he just wikipedia'd it and is trying to argue how he understood it.

yeah but in my opinion most folks that buy hybrids should have just went ahead and bought them from P.T. Barnum. they will never actually know the benefit of the mpg increase to offset initial purchase price. when the more expensive hybrids/luxury cars and suvs are $20k more for teh hybrid than a reg gas you would have to put many many miles on it with your improved mpg to offset that cost, however what seems silly to me is that the lower level (sup) cars like the camry hybrid and fords hybrids have a much bigger gap in the mpg(meaning the hybrid gets insane amount more) and the price dif isnt that great so a person could literally make up the price dif in a matter of a year or so. but around here it seems hybrids are more status symbols than actually used as intended. kind of a way of folks to say "hey i can afford one" like mercedes and such used to be.

I realize that the newer technology vehicle cost significantly more (for the most part) than their non-hybrid brothers, however new technology has always been that way. Back when I built my first pc, it cost me nearly $2000 for a CHEAP build. The technology was new. And as such, cost a lot. But people still built computers..... Now they are much cheaper to build, even percentage wise, because of all the different companies that manufacture the parts. (you don't even want to THINK of what an Intel chip would cost if they didn't have AMD to compete against)

Back to cars: As new technology comes out, it is expensive to manufacture due to tooling costs. As this technology gets more commonplace, the costs will go back down. Back in the day you actually had to pay EXTRA to get a car with an automatic transmission. They were not as common place. Now you actually have to usually ASK for a manual trans if you wanted one. Things change. As the technology improves, the hybrid costs will go down. Just like everything else has for the past 100 years.

Wish you were closer, it would be nice to have someone that could actually fix our ambulances when they go down.
