Has anyone ever been trailing here? I'm interested in trails and not mud holes. Input please?!

Alright cool, Im planning a trip up there this fall. I've heard a lot of good things about it. Now just have to test it out to find out for myself. It'll be my first "trail" ride. So I'm planning on taking a few buddies and hammocking for the weekend  there are spots to do that right?

There are quite a few water crossings. Don't go for a couple days after a hard rain. Other than that, you can get through the main trail with a stock 4x4. The left fork of the main trail, after the second water crossing, is a bear with open diffs. It gets very slippery when it's wet, but the main trail is still passable.
Basically, it's a fire road with extra obstacles on the sides. Bring a friend with a second truck, and enjoy!

I would sooner check out the Big Levels trail. There is a Youtube of it where a couple J##ps have a sped up video of most of it. I don't recall much water other than a few muddy holes, but there are bypasses. If you take Big Levels trail from the Coal Rd side, I would take the switch backs, it will be about a 4 hour drive. There are camping spots all over the trail and even parking too.

It's Forest Rd. 162 between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Coal Rd.
