    It's just a convenience thing. Much easier to just set your hand throttle and not have to worry about it than trying to maintain a good throttle, watch your voltage and watch the winch line at the same time, especially since your other foot is probably standing on the brake as well.

    I'm also kind of curious how an auto will perform with a crawlbox. I kind of wonder if you would just sit there like it does normally when you let off the brake or if it will actually creep like a manual will. If you had a hand throttle you could just set it and let the thing crawl like it should.

    Ya but if you have to be outside the truck for winching the it keeps your rpms up for the alternator.

    But I want it mo for then obstacle part. My buddy has one in his jeep and it's really nice for off roading

    Better then swapping in an auto. Plus I love the stick shift for going down hill. And just driving a stick is more fun

    I give up on the hand throttle thing... Either I have to rig up something like in the pic I posted (which I don't like...) or I have to come up with very detailed schematics of how the throttle by wire system functions on the tacoma and try to make my own electrical device to alter the throttle signal.
