Hey B, or Squishy or Oz... what do you guys think of the porcelain tile that looks like wood? Think it's any good? and would hold up to dog paws?

 

I personally like it. Actually I was just checking it out at speedy glass today, they used it in the waiting area. Looks like it was holding up nicely.

Porcelain is pretty tough, don't think you would have to worry about the dogs nails

 

Is any one brand better than another?

haven't seen it in person. you should check on the PEI/group of the tile before you make your final decision. you'll also want to find out how thick the sub floor is, generally tile requires 1 1/4" sub floor. if you have 3/4" sub floor you could also use ditra matting.

I know i was not asked but i can tell you that this style tile has become increasingly popular over the last few years as an alternative to wood flooring in certain spaces.
Not that it helps you Susan, but HD actually carries several styles in stock. (At least in my market.)

When done properly it can be really hard to tell the difference!

That's good to hear. Just relaxing, been a long hot week at work and I think I'm still trying to recover.

 

Yeah - been lucky to be in A/C for the majority of the week myself.

We've got a hot streak of weather ahead of us here too...

I thought it was cooler in being further north & all that???

 

They were saying it's been hotter here this week then in San Diego lol

Might need to move up north soon and start building igloos for a living

 

I remember back when i was 15 doing a Canoe trip up above North Bay Ontario in the summer... Got real cold at night - even though it was July!

 

I'm about two hours south of north bay. Not like that anymore. Although last week we had a few days were it was 30+c during the day and was down to 13+c at night.

 

Global warming...

Gorgeous Scenery up there. We did a 10 day High Adventure trip on Lake Tamagami (sp?)
The one & only time I saw the northern lights in person.
The water was so clear you could see +20ft deep no problem.
I'd love to go back one day.

 

B isn't that much further north than you, ~250 miles. I'm aboot 600 miles north of B. it was around 100F with humidity a few days this past week... which is why I took the week off.
