Mine was no charge!!!!... $1500.00 worth of springs and labor. This doesn't include shocks either since I already have a Sport TRD. This is on their bill since it's a fix under warranty for TSB.

TSB is great, one little side note. Ass end is up higher unladen and therefore headlamps dont shine as far out, like me, you may need to adjust the beam to put it back where it was before.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a 2WD access cab and I can't imagine that it would have stronger springs in it than the 4x4s and prerunners.

Only offered for access or double cab 4x4's or pre-runners. All 5 lug trucks and regular cab 6 lug trucks do not qualify for this. Now looking at the 07 specs. The regular cab pre-runner or 4x4 (both 6 lug trucks) are rated to haul as much or more than an access cab 6 lug truck, so realistically there is no reason I can see why they shouldn't qualify. Now the 5 lug trucks are rated to haul some 200 lbs less, so perhaps those springs will actually hold what they are rated at, though not having one I can't confirm that for sure.

However, untill Toyota chooses to acknowledge that ALL 6 lug trucks have the same springs (if they in-fact do, again I can't confirm or deny this) and they choose to extend this TSB to them as well, I think that sadly regular cab 6 lug truck owners are going to be left holding the proverbial bag.

    Sorry

The reg cab PreRunner/4WD's have a different number rear spring pack. It looks as if the 2 main leafs are the same, but the overload leaf is thinner overall, tapers to a even thinner tip, and is contoured a little differently, therefor it carries a different part number for the complete assembled pack.

There have been at least 2 different people with reg cabs who have had the TSB performed, but it was because the dealer did not read the TSB closely, just like all the ones who ordered new 3 leaf packs, and the ones who installed wrong shocks. Some dealer people just took a quick glance at the TSB paperwork and screwed up. One of the reg cabs has posted pics, and the rear end is way up in the air since the reg cab is much lighter on the rear axle.

Do you have anything that backs this up? I just re-read all 11 pages of the TSB and nowhere are cabs or lugs mentioned. It simply states all Tacoma 4x4 and PreRunner vehicles.

I just did part searches on a couple different sites an see no "special" part number for reg cab spring packs...

Copied directly from the TSB itself which I have sitting in front of me Page 1 a little less than half way down the page.

"Applicable Vehicles: 2005-2007 model year Tacoma 4x4 and PreRunner vehicles (except standard cab)"

The 5 lug and 6 lug thing was my wording trying to simplify the explination. All 4x4 and PreRunners use a 6 lug hub. Every thing else (read as x-runners, and 4x2 base trucks) uses a 5 lug hub.

No disrespect maverick491, but I'm just not seeing it. Here's a link to page #1 of the revised suspension TSB. It clearly states "2005-2007 model year Tacoma 4x4 and PreRunner vehicles." Even the older TSB that's been linked numerous times on TW has no standard cab exclusion. What's the date and number on your TSB?

Same date and number as yours. All I can say is that the link that I printed mine from was on Tacoma world at some point and that is the information that has been discussed several times before, if you have a regular cab truck and bitch loud enough the dealer may do it for you, but I suspect it will be a long hard fight.

    Good luck.

Shouldn't be any harder a fight than any other eligible Tacoma. TSB covers it. Part #s are the same. There's already sooo many spring TSB threads here, there's just no point in confusing people even more.

TCBob posted the bulletin with the exclusion in this thread (post #8). It's a later revision than the one you linked to. It was revised to update the Applicable Vehicles (September 12, 2007).

    JKarp,

it looks like the version of the TSB that you are looking at is a black and white photocopy that someone scanned into their computer. unless you were the one who made the copy of this from an original (in that case, disreguard this post), my guess is that someone with a 5 lug "whited out" by some means the exclusion part in order to try to convince the dealer to do the TSB on their truck.
just a guess, i could be completely wrong

Nope, the update wording is different. There's been 2 revisions to the TSB; the most recent adding the standard cab exclusion.
