Just finished install a 3rd member.

Just finished installing a 3rd member I got from a 2006 Tundra with 3.90 gears and factory LSD Total time spent was almost 4 hours spent. Took my time. And damn that 3rd is heavy as shit when your in a akward position to get it installed. Recalibarated my Ultra guage and getting around 18.5 mpg again. I was getting 15.3 with my 255/75/17 guard dog M/T. Total spent was $250.00.

Its not a ARB but it'll do for what I need. Wot!

Awesome, didn't even realize the 1st gen tundra diffs would fit. Nice work!

 

I dont think that most know about it. its a good alternative to the rare 4.10. Anything with the T100 axle will swap out Did a ton of research.

Interesting. You really only got 15.3 with 255/75/17's? If was thinking about going with that size. What type of driving do you do? Id love to hear more about this swap...

 

Anybody else do this with the 3.91 gears? I know that the 4.10's are a bit over stock when using 33's. I have 4x4 so I'm thinking of doing this front and rear.

 

x2 but I want to add an ARB to the rear, so I think I might go the ECGS route. But if this is more affordable, I might try to do it myself

 

pay the extra cash and go the ECGS route with the ARB installed already...The LSD is no match for an actual locker when the time comes that you NEED a locker lol

 

Oh I'm getting a locker regardless, I was talking about getting gears cheaper somewhere else (like OP) and puting the arb in there, then installing. I was going back and forth with Chase at ECGS and new gears (front & rear) and the locker was going to be $2100 shipped. A little too mich for me right now

 

I'd hop on that brother! Thats about a grand south of what front and rear with 4.56's and ARBs cost me!

 

How come you got 4.56's? Are you running 35s? I'm running 33s so I read that 4.10s are ideal, no?

whaaa?! that sounds like hell for your transfer case! not saying it's wrong by any means, I'll be the 1st to tell you I don't know squat about gearing, but this just seems off. From what I know the RECOMMENDED difference should be 0% lol
