I dont know how to copy links from my phone on tapatalk but if you do a search for central virginian thread theres tons of guys in there. Also if you go to the regional forums and click on southeast there may be more. I believe the dc metro area thread is in northeast.
Whatcha planning on buying? New model or used? Theres trucks for sale from time to time on the forum so keep an eye out. If you are looking at regular cab models theres a member stunt man hans in jersey selling a completely badass regular cab :)

Thanks a lot guys!! as the name says, i'm still new to the forum and just getting into the trucks as well, searched a lot but couldn't find that page.

as far as what i'm buying:

    used
    4X4
access cab at least (maybe a double if i can find one in my proce range with few enough miles)
shooting for under 80, preferably under 70K miles
somewhere in the range of $15-17.5K

i'm on a pretty tight budget, college student (taking this semester off to try and save for the truck+a little spending money) and so I can't afford new or super low miles. I know even 100K isn't a lot for a yota, my whole family drives em (i've got a '98 carolla right now) but the car is why i want under the 80 marker sense it already has 120. figure something under 80 will still feel really new compare to that.

I know. I thought the same thing. Someone gonna get a hell of a nice truck.
Here is the link to central virginia: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/south-east/202726-central-virginian-thread.html
You shouldn't be too far from GWNF right? I've been over to flagpole once and it was a pretty good time. Went with a bunch of jeepers and a guy on the forum here. When I went it was still cold and there was snow on the trails so that made it a bit more fun too.

Toyotas hold their value very well so you may or may not be able to find something in that price for those miles but you may find a good deal if you take your time and keep an eye out.

Edit: I didn't even see that the link had already been posted :der:

Ya thanks for the repost of the central va thread, got on there yesterday.

And like I said, I'm saving for this truck at least until Xmas so I've got time to keep a look out. Plus I'm willing to go a pretty good distance if I find a truck I like, I've always loved driving so I don't mind pending 4 or more hours even in the corolla with no AC.

I think you should be able to find a used 4-cyl easily in that price range, not sure about a V6 though.

You guys spotted me - that's my '09 OR DC sitting on a OME / Total Chaos lift up front with the Dakar replacement pack in the rear w / OME shocks. It is a Domello front bumper w / Warn winch and Slee sliders. Have an ARB front locker sitting in the garage and a snorkel waiting for an install. I still have to get a rear bumper and some skids...it's a work in progress.

I just got transferred to DC in October (2011) but, spend a ton of the time out of the state / country. Sitting in Florence Italy right now.

I'd love to meet some of the local guys when I am back in town. I am a Land Cruiser guy at heart so, I know Lance, Cam, and the guys at IPOR really well...they helped build my 80. I was also pretty active on ih8mud.com prior to getting rid of my 80.

Let me know if anyone has any offroad excursions planned in NOVA...I'd love to get out and see any local / semi-local offerings.

    Cheers.

    - Mark
