I saw a guy with the TRD Sport wheels painted flat black the other day and it looked pretty awesome. Do you know anyone that has done this?

 

Looking good! I looked at that mesh also and decided it was too flimsy but you have proved me wrong! How did you attach the mesh? I've got stainless long nuts glued to the frame. I know alot of people also use the zip tie meathod...

 

I think I might know myself

 

I used the Zip tie method. I think I used around 10 zip ties. I drill holes in the backside that couldn't be seen from the front. But as for the others I took some some washers and bent them in half and used panel bond to glue them all around the bottom of the lip of the back of the grille. This worked extremely well and the hold is very strong. This panel bond is designed to actually glue quarter panels onto cars without welding so its strong as shit. If you are interested in doing it this way I could take my grille out one day this week and snap you some pics of the back with the washers!

 

haha I guess I could have looked and found that out! So you can answer my question first hand! How do they hold up against chipping and such? Did you just sand and paint?

 

I plastidipped mine I literally took them off, cleaned them and sprayed on. They have been on for about 4 months and have held up well.

Looks awesome! Completely changed the look. You're giving me motivation to do my BHLM, I'm afraid I'm going to screw something up!
