Worried? Not sure that's an accurate description but I've been looking at my options for a snorkel if i ever decide to do glass fenders.

That 2nd gen one you posted isn't bad but I really don't like the plastic sheet covering the hole. I'm after a much cleaner final result than that. If I can't make it clean and factory looking, I'm not going to do it.

I've even been considering building my own snorkel from fiberglass for a more "aero-dynamic" look that follows the lines of the truck a little better. Fiberglass isn't ideal but I don't have the ability to make my own from a hi-tech polymer like the Safari Snorkel.

I found this one a while back that a guy on ih8mud built for his 80 series Land Cruiser. I would change some things but the basic approach is helpful for ideas.

Its not bad. I'm more interested in his process of how he built that snorkel than the actual look of that one. I think I could come up with even better lines. That one sort of resembles a big leech sucking on the side of the truck.

That would make it a lot easier for fiberglass fenders too

im wondering if you kinda combined the two..

Like what if you cut a big ass hole to allow your Safari snorkel through..then just laid some new fiber glass on the fender to make it look like its built into the fender like that guy did with the plastic sheet?

you buy a snorkel and get to work. I'm still looking for fenders.

Anyone have a set of GW fiberglass fenders for sale?

depends on what I can find. Probably something around 4.5" flare, but I'll consider a 6" flare if the right deal pops up.
