BHLM, 265/50r20 Proxes Tires, custom leather interior, ExTang Tri-fold hardtop bed cover, installed OEM foglights, Bugflector, Plasti-dipped rims, Plasti-dipped Emblems, Installed uhaul Trailer hitch and ball, GrillCraft mesh grill, 275/55r20 Nitto terra grapplers, pink fuzzy dice mod, billies at 2.5", Sockmonkey decals, four hella 500s in the grill, Weathertech floor mats, Debadged tailgate, removed pinstripes, installed cb, spidertrax spacers, aftermarket led tails, custom rod holder, OME dakar springs, OME N182 extended length rear shocks, OME extended ubolts, Dakar extra leaf, color-matched bumper, lower valence blacked out, BAMF tie downs, led headlight housing, color matched grill surround, bedlined all pro rear bumper, n-fab prerunner light bar
I currently have front bilstein 5100s set at 2.5" with oem ucas and dakar springs with OME182s in the back.

My tires are 285s and rub at full turn.. i don't know if this has been answered and my suspension as well as general truck knowledge is not up to par, but can a 1" body spacer be used to provide extra lift to clear 285s along with the bilsteins i have up front at their current setting and stock ucas?

    Any help is appreciated

Additionally, i cannot trim, the truck is not under my name so i cannot make irreversible changes. if there is another safe cheap alternative please tell me! i am a poor college student and cheap equals good in my book.

Yes it can. I am looking into getting a 1" BL to clear larger tires in the near future as well:D

    Link to parts: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/ToyotaTacoma.shtml#Tacoma3
Link to how to: Although you will probably still have some rub. No matter how tall the body is, at some point the tires will start to rub on the front cab mounts and possibly the frame. There is the cab mount chop mod though.

I wonder if I could fit 285 on my stock baja?

so if i understand this correctly, because the body lift is a BODY lift and not a suspension lift, it should have no negative impacts on my camber angle on the front two wheels so there is no need to upgrade ucas..

and i have heard of the cab mount chop and seen it done very well, just not ready to do any modifications of that sort

Would wheel spacers fix the problem?

OP says he has 1.25" Spidertrax spacers on the wheels.

I have the same problem right now. Rubbing everywhere...even with substantial amounts of trimming. The cab mount chop is my next mod, however I am looking into Icon Extended Travel C/O's to give me a higher lift.

The biggest thing to fixing rubbing is to figure out where it is rubbing. If you are rubbing on the fenders, you're options are trimming, suspension/spindle lift, or body lift. Sometimes wheel spacers help and sometimes they can actually make rubbing worse (hard to explain, but when you are at full lock the outside edge of the tire is now X" closer to the fenders. Hopefully someone else can explain it better)

If you are rubbing on the frame (I don't think I have heard of anyone doing this on a 2nd gen) wheel spacers should help as well as wheels with different backspacing, etc.

If you are rubbing on the cab mount, the cab mount chop is pretty much your only option, because again wheel spacers will likely just push the outside edge of your tires closer to the cab mount at full lock.

Also, a body lift will not affect your alignment or suspension in anyway.

I forgot about the pinch weld. If you are rubbing on the pinch weld (it is a seam where 2 parts of the body are welded together, it is on the back of the inside of the fender behind either the fender flare or some black plastic in the fender, I can't remember which) Basically you have to lift the vehicle higher or pound it flat with a hammer.

I have 255/85R16 KM2's (basically a 33x10.00 tire) I have almost 3 inches of lift up front from some 886 OME coils on some 5100 shocks. It rarely rubs unless at full flex (with a reasonable amount of trimming to the fender flares), but there is a sweet spot that is at about 75% of full lock to the passenger side where the tire will rub the fender a little. After hitting full flex here and there in Moab, I have rub marks all over the fender flares (front and rear), the cab mounts, and the pinch welds.

yea ive considered that too. like i said im essentially broke so until the funds come around i may just live with the rubbing rather than deal with possible problems down the road due to the use of a body lift

if i were to install some lift spindles, would that solve my rubbing issues?
