    Hello, here's my problem. 2011 doublecab with python electric start. I have drl, wanted remove them. I bought flasher 81980-02030 and blocker 82671-30360. I made the mistake of not unhooking the battery. I blew the turn signal fuse under the hood, replaced it.
    Now, turn signals don't work and truck is stuck in park. I replaced the 2 "new" parts I purchased and tried the old ones back in and same thing.
    -truck starts
    -all head/rear/hazzard lights work *except turn signals* (no clicking when using turn signals only clicking with hazzards.)

    I've check the fuses under the dash and under the hood, they are all good.
    I know I can try screw driver trick to get it out of park if I need it to, but is it safe to drive untill I get my trucked looked at(without signals of course).

    Does anyone have any ideas what else could be going on?

    Any help would be great!

    At first it sounds like you blew out the relay when you shorted the circuit. However, adding in the Remote Start to the equation adds a bit more complication to the install. The Remote Start will have a tie in with the ECU and the flasher relay so that it can flash the lights when you start it up. I would get in touch with Python's Technical Support team to see if they can help you trouble shoot the problem since it "may" be a problem with the Python Remote Start.

    Install was really easy. Just have to unplug a bunch of wires and unsnap clip mounts and then its plug and play! Took me about half an hour, first real DIY thing I did on my car. It looks very nice I must say.

    Does someone know what model trucks came with DRL and which ones didn't?

    I have a 2012 RC MT 4x4 and it doesn't have them,

    Toyota shows them as standard on a 2013 now though,

    What am I missing, did Toyota put them on older trucks but some 2012s?

    It's been an option on all models on the 2nd gen trucks up through 2012. So you will find pretty much any configuration truck with and without DRLs.

    Interesting.

    Thanks...

    I am wondering if the local dealers here in the Asheville area, only two of em, don't order DRLs that much.

    Now I'm wondering if I like it? Gonna call my ins co and ask if I get a slight discount for having them,

    Not yellowing, actual melting but it's hit or miss. Look at the DRL threads here. I can't remember all the technical stuff but I think there was a certain problem that made it melt.

    I have had mine done for about 2 years now and have not noticed any yellowing or melting, at all.

    4157 lamps are a couple of watts higher than the 3157 and may promote melting.

    Checking the rack at O'Reilly, the Sylvania lamps are sold as "3157/4157" so I don't know what their wattage is.

    3157 = 26.88 watts
    4157 = 28.54 watts

    Thank you Christo for answering the two previous poster's questions and MY question before I even asked it !

    I will also be trying this on a 2012, but was confused that parts are only listed for 05-11 ... (Because 2012 is different on a few things, and seeing that 2013's have been out, I just figured part #s should have been updated by now...)

    Thanks for the post.:D
