Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs VS BFG Allterrain T/A KO

Well since your so full of knowlege, why dont you tell me what you recommend have you had either?

 

whats your primary use?

I have owned Duratracs for years.

I have many friends who run BFG AT's, but I have not owned a set. I can only provide info based on what the same model truck on different tires will do, but driver input is always key and will throw off my opinion of them.

I have seen guys wheel up obstacles on bald tires where a brand new MT tire with a shitty driver gets stuck.

 

ummm yea ok. Just providing my first hand knowledge. Not trying to be a dick like you obviously are.

OP asked for feedback and I'm giving it to the best of my ability.

How good are they in snow? and can you honestly tell me you never broke the ass end out in rain when they were at 1/2 life?

 

That had nothing to do with the tire's.

Like the pro's say... the Duracrap is better at getting traction offroad. Ill leave it to them and their unbiased opinions.

I also took my 265/70/17 Duratracs off for the summer and run 255/85/16 BFG KM2's. In summer I want clearance. In winter I want traction. A snow tire will outperform a non-snow tire in the snow every day all day IMO.

Blue Moon? hahaha but yeah, i think im giving the duratracs a go this time around in 33s, im in utah so we get hardcore snow, sometimes.

I will be doing alot of highway driving, and some offroading, in mud, trails etc 4x4 my truck has seen many times in the 6 months ive had it

 

Primary use, driving in town, and mud, everytime it rains, trails, not so much rock crawling. but off road for sure
not sure how i feel about the thin side walls they have

 

pick good lines, air down, and you have nothing to worry about. any sidewall wear tear if you drive incorrectly or air down to the wrong PSI.


all three trucks on duratracs and none of them have ever had a puncture issue let alone one in the rocks.

The DuraTracks are great in the snow and mud and handle awesome in the rain well my 33x12.50's do. the side walls are thin but if your not in the sharp ass rocks you will be fine. I slashed 2 of mine in MOAB but i was was mashing in a rock garden so that was my fault but they do have a lot of gashes in them from the trails I hit. Do I recommend the duratracks hell yeah they are great tires. Will I buy them again nope I play in the rocks too much for them and i would rip them apart before the tread was gone. I've got about 25,000 miles on mine and still have 70% to 75% tread left.

I love my 33" BFG KO's. I didnt think they would be this good of a tire.

 

So pretty much if you aren't in sharp rocks all the time, Duratracs are better?

 

That seems to be what i've gathered from reading up on these two tires.

 

getting them put on tomorrow,! they better last Dammit
