I had a set of Wranglers scallop on a new beep in under 15,000 miles. If you do a lot of offroading and air down your tires for traction, they don't hold up. We rotated them twice. On the second rotation, the dealership told me to start looking for new tires. I ended up replacing them and installing a lift that same weekend because the Jeep was undriveable at speeds above 35 because of the tires and it was a good excuse to put a lift on it. (My wife still tells people about that was her RedNeck Husbands idea of a 1 year anniversary present.). She says it would be a good line for Jeff Foxworthy....

On my Taco, I've been running BFG All Terrains since the day I bought it. I drove straight to Discount Tire the day I bought it and pulled the sissy street tread michelins off and went with the 265 /70 / r17s . It's been a good compromise since I still do a lot of highway driving in addition to ruining around on the deer leases and the family farm on weekends.

Speaking of lifts... I'm planning to finish my SkyJacker 3" lift install on my Taco this weekend. When replacing the rear leaf springs, has anyone had to shim the rear end or have you just used the diff drop kits??

Diff drops are useless on second gens. All they do i rotate the diff forward. It doesn't help the CV angles at all, and actually it drains diff oil away from the pinion bearings.

Lots of good discussion and CAD drawings in this thread.

I don't really care for the Giants or the Cowboys, but if Dallas wins, someone should follow Scott around all day tomorrow, quote everything he says, and reply with the Cowboys helmet.

1st game was good, you have to admit the 2nd game you were on the edge of your seat, we were up 12 points at the 2 minute warning

Kase don't go jumping anything unless you box your frame, put limit straps, bumps, and gusset the spindle & LCA
