    JEREZ... for reference:

one of the bottom 2 gray plugs that is labeled "unk" is the BT mic, and one of the yellowish plugs labeled "unk" is probably steering wheel controls, and I bet the last open plug is not used.

The right hand connector with the two "pins" inside. That is the AM/FM antenna connector.

Is this a 2012 standard radio or a 2013 "display audio" (NO Entune or XML or HD but still touch screen)

That's what I figured since everything was the same except it was missing the "expansion" box that the nav unit has.

Here are the connectors: 2012 Tacoma NAV Connectors

The satellite and GPS antennas are not listed on there. Bluetooth functions are all internal of the nav unit. The microphone connections go out of R15, R16, R19, and R20, up to the rearview mirror.

From looking at the wiring diagrams, an ENTUNE unit should be able to swap over to a pre-2012 JBL Tacoma. See the PDF below. The multi-colored lines show which pins from the PRE 2012 connectors need to be moved, and where they need to go on the 2012 connector. Toyota combined two connectors from the old model on the 2012. The only issue comes into play if you want to subscribe to Entune, Toyota requires a VIN number that came from the factory with Entune installed. Without the subscription you will not get any of the internet functions: Bing, Traffic, Weather, Stocks, or Pandora. Nav, iPod, BlueTooth all still work (which is mainly what I'm interested in, everything else is already on my iPhone). I have heard some people using a 2012 VIN just to get the subscription but I'm not sure how legal that is and it probably creates issues down the road when the legitimate owner of that VIN tries to register for the service.

    Entune in PRE 2012 Tacoma

    EDIT: Updated PDF 20120911.

I'll be unsubscribing from this thread and will post any updates to the 2012 nav in a -2011 in this thread.

what is the difference between the jbl and non-jbl units? i have a 2012 dcsb o/r and it has the standard(?) stereo in it... wouldn't entune be a simple swap?
