Wheeling on Saturday is tempting. I need to test out my new add a leaf. Finally got a replacement haha! I'm worried about not having sliders tho. I would hate to smash up my truck when I have sliders sitting in the garage awaiting powdercoat!

Saturday sounds pretty good for me as well. I've been wanting to test out the new ATO skids. Should be one of the last warm days before Fall hits the NW.

We will be wheeling in wetness and gray skies 2 months from now.

ha perfect! you can bolt em on for the weekend, then take em back off and get em painted up

I got my sliders the day before my first Moab trip - I welded them on bare, and then painted once I got back

    Meeting:

    9 -8 -2012
    10 AM
Burger King Parking Lot - North Bend, WA

    Planned Trail:
    Guard Station
    http://www.nwjeepn.com/Guardstation.htm

    (credit nwjeepn.com)
The Guard Station Trail runs from FS9700-115 up to Teanaway ridge. As is typical for the trails on the west side of Hwy 97 it has a good mix of steep rocky hill climbs, some off-camber, lots of tree roots and some tight spots that may provide you a little trail rash if you aren't well armored. This is not a trail for someone new to a Jeep. With moisture this trail will require the use of a winch and good driving skills.

There are additional connecting trails that we will likely run as well.

    Getting There:
Traveling north on Hwy 97, just past the turn off for the town of Liberty, turn left onto FS9700 (may also be marked as FS 115 or FS9700-115) There is a building here on the left called the "Liberty work center". Follow FS9700 for about .1 (one tenth of a mile) at watch for the trail on the left. The trail starts out by dipping onto a small gully through some bush and is lined with old tank treads to keep the trail from becoming muddy.

    Requirements:
    Pass Needed? NO

CB, Lift, Armor, Tires, Recovery Points, BRAIN

Well boys, I went all out and spent $50 @ walmart to be CB ready for Saturday. $35 Cobra19 and $15 Scosche antenna. I have it ghetto rigged in my center console for now. If it works decent for the trails I will mount and keep it. If not, walmart has a very friendly return policy and I will invest in a nicer setup.

Not sure about how to tune the thing. Will, if you could bring your critically acclaimed SWR meter on Saturday that would be cool.

I have a cheapo midland cb thats basically the same as yours just with a different name. It works fine for what I need it for, I just need to tune my antenna. My buddy had the same one and it worked great. For trail riding its all you will need. If you decide to become a long haul trucker and spend 95% of your day on it then you might want a better setup haha

Nice work! In all honesty most cbs work relatively the same. Yes there are a few tweaks, but they all transmit at 4 watts no matter how much you spend (unless you boost/amplify, but thats a whole different story). Antennas, then placement make all the difference.

Yes will please bring the meter lol

There's a line x place in kirkland my cousin has used before. I don't have line x but have been wanting to try it. I have the dealer bed liner
