jesus. yea i hope im not gonna pay a bunch of money. i find it hard to believe that one little thing can knock out so much shit on a vehicle.

if fallen victim to what ive complained about on new vehicles for years.

damn computers fucking up. why does all this stuff have to be so complicated. its absolutely rediculous

You have no idea, these trucks are about as complicated as the damn space shuttle, the electronics on newer vehicles use so many feedback signals and varying voltages there not easy to fix as you said. A lot of these signals need load to be checked, sounds easy, but not even close..

Yes your right, sucks that there are so many failure points on these vehicles...

Wow so if trans issues cause the failures your seeing, its strange how it affects something that seems totally unrelated. Thats why these things are so complicated, so many things are tied together it can be difficult to fix unless you have intimate knowledge of that specific vehicles electronic systems.

I hope you get it worked out Leo, took me a while to respond, I was at the races all weekend...

BMW's get trans errors and hazard lights and or horn goes off randomly when the battery no longer has the juice it should. Not sure if your truck is slow to start or the battery is old or has bad connections.

It's a Toyota yeah, but if it were mine I would get the battery tested, or borrow someone else's to install and test... just because I've seen other makes do this sort of crap.

Toyotas today are nothing like the simplistic reliable stuff their diminishing reputation was built on. The last vehicle I'll ever own off warranty is my Ford diesel 7.3.

its all good. tell you what. if i need parts replaced and they wanna ream me for labor ill give you some business man. id rather pay someone who takes pride in their work. i hear so many bad things about dealerships im not really wanting to let them do the work.

could be.... my truck has to crank a little longer than im used to when starting it. (old vehicle and work trucks and other family cars)

my suburban barely needed to crank over to start.

And interesting puzzle, but I've got to say I'm confused by two contradictory statements in the first couple paragraphs (see bold).

same fuse blew out on my work tacoma. i rode around for 3 days in the summer with no a/c and kept using the overide button. the trailer plug was dangling down for a while. i never even thought it was that till i took it to get fixed.

Well my Taco went back to doing the same thing, I did somemore reading online and cleaned the ABS sensor as well on the drivers rear wheel(completely dusty and dirty) and dissconnected the battery for 10 mins to reet the ECU. So far so good, probably did 30 miles since and all seems normal.

Unfortunately I'm curious about this because I just got done installing a new head unit & this dimmer wire you speak of I remember connecting during installation. Everything appeared to be fine at first but tonight I noticed that my dash lights will not come on UNLESS I have my headlights & parking lights turned off. So I'm guessing that this dimmer wire I messed with did screw up the lights in my dash (just guessing here). I'm really hoping that I don't have to spend $750 to fix it.
