Just installed some LCE headers for my 2.7 ,bought them off CL and I think it was made for a 4runner. I say this because in order to bolt up to the cat the swaybar had to be removed. Currently trying to find a way to drop the swaybar down some. This is for a 1995 single cab 4x4, so toytec relocation kit wont fit.

im sure im going to love mine! lol :D

i just installed the magnaflow exhaust... seems like there is a bit better throttle response. i also just put in a k&n filter. the exhaust is pretty loud but i have noticed its getting quieter as it builds up some carbon inside. was a pretty tricky install by myself since the connecter tube was so short between the muffler and cats... it leaks a bit and im not totally happy with the fit, i'll probably adjust it if i can when i install the headers so it tucks up under the rear quorter panel better and throw some exhaust tape on the joints..

ill throw up some pics of the headers when i get them.. but for now..

So I caved in and got some. Quick question.. did you guys put them in from the top or the bottom? I took a quick look under the hood and it looks like it'd be a bitch to put them in from the top. Any input would be helpful

    Thanks

    Install from the top.

Won't fit through the bottom unless you remove the midpipe and cats.

Remove the heatshield first before you try to do anything to the stock manifold.

Trust me, I've done it a total of 6 times already on my truck...

No, there are no mounting holes on the header for it.

Header is awesome, muffler swap is not. After header install noticed a big low end boost of torque, auto trans not hunting for gears nearly as much, so, thought I'd improve on this some more and had two different high flow mufflers installed, the first was extremely loud, no difference improvement on performance, next was a different high flow muffler, larger, some baffling but higher flow than stock and quieter than first but louder than stock, noticed I went backwards on performance, truck was hunting gears again and dropping down to second at 70 mph on moderate hill where before would drop to third. I am going back to my stock muffler. Someone on this site had it right when they say the 2.7 with LCE header needs back pressure to increase torque. After spending several hundred on this botched experiment, I know absolutely that for everyday driving at 2000 to 3000 rpm, the LCE header should be run with stock exhaust and a pro dry air filter and leave the rest alone.
