TC UCA's VS. Camburg

alright everyone, Ive seen alot more people on here using the TC's rather than the camburgs and Im just wondering why?
Whats the difference between the two?

 

chris, is there a way to keep the camburgs from getting noisy? is the noise coming from the ball on the slug rotating around?

 

i'm pretty sure they use the exact same uniballs.

 

Of course, saying your truck has Total Chaos arms sounds really cool too!

 

i just looked at wheelers offroad and when you look at either the camburg or TC arms they both have an option below for replacement aurora uniballs. i could be making an ass out myself by assuming they are the exact same uniballs.

 

Yeah i dont really understand either. i think i'm going to go with the TC's. That is as soon as I get a truck... I cant freaking wait! i've been looking at craigslist and there are two 96's.... oops. sorry to hijack...

 

ok well they're both 96's. one has 190k, 3 in spacer lift and 32in BFG muds. The other is stock with 190k. Both have factory wheels painted black and v6 4x4 manual xtra cab. so pretty much the same truck and they both want $4500. the stock one looks like it has had a lot of expensive parts replaced like the ac pump, brakes and clutch. so ya. i'm stuck.

 

The only real reason I put the TC's on my truck was because of a smoking deal on a used set. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have spent over $600 on them.

 

thanks for the input guys. I just dont see why a piece of metal with a bend in it cost $650 dollars....seems a little outrageous
I really want some but I cant justify that kind of money right now

If you are primarily interested in correcting camber after lifting Light Racing's offering @ $449 is a little less painful on the wallet. Stock type bushings and BJ's so it should be quiet.
It's cool that Camburg now has a basic UCA that uses the stock Toyota BJ @ $390 (+ stock BJ's)
When I lift I'm probably going with one of those two.

After a quick look over at Wheeler's it looks like the high-end Camburg ships with 1.25" Aurora Uni-Balls while the Total Chaos has 1.00" Aurora Uniballs.

 

I just installed a set of camburg 1.25" uniball UAA's on my 2010 Tacoma with 3" lift and 33" BFG KM2 Muds and it wont line up.
I can only get 1.9 - 2.0 degrees on the caster, and cant get 0 degrees camber with the eccentrics on the lower arms maxed out.
I called camburg and talked about it, and they said, yes this happens and that I needed to send the arms back to be modded by putting heim joints on the other end in place of the bushings, at a cost of $500 !
Needless to say Im a bit po about it because camburg said the 1.25" UAA's would correct any alignment problems with a 3" lift, and big tires.
Now I wish I had bought the TC's
