I feel for you man, I'm always paranoid about parking my truck anywhere I go and I always try to park it somewhere I can see it even when I'm just running errands but its not always possible.

My friend worked in the car bizz for most of his life and has seen most everything happen.
He says the Lojack systems work!
His old neighbor a Gilbert cop confirmed that yes is is the best system to locate cars.
Alarms make noise as we have all heard, and usually ignore them but Lojack will allow cops to find the car.

The sweet satisfaction of getting a Tacoma thief off the streets :D

    Thanks! Appreciate it!

I haven't been able to keep my eyes off silver Tacos in the last 24 hours. Saw one behind a short wall that almost looked like mine but when I got closer it had stock wheels.

Very strongly considering it next time. Hindsight is 20/20.

    That's a lot of area!

Me too, I guess now I have to be paranoid about parking it at home in my assigned spot too :(

Lojack would be great and I am definitely looking into it. In this case, an alarm would've enough of a notice for me to see them messing with it and call the cops right away... I only park like 20ft away from my bedroom window.

They couldn't have chosen a better desert vehicle though  If it turns into a drug/coyote vehicle I hope it gets stuck 100 miles from anywhere in the desert

Sorry to hear about this, OP! I hope you find your truck in one piece. I live in Denver but you never know where it might turn up!

If I see a silver Taco similar to yours with Arizona plates (I assume) I'll give it a closer look.

I know a lot of people on these boards are against posting their plate numbers, but would it be beneficial in this case? Maybe the thieves who took the OP's truck were dumb enough to leave the original plates on the truck and still drive it around??

Oh yeah, good call. I posted the plates earlier in the thread in a reply, but I forgot to update the original post with it. They're ANY0170.

Sometimes the stolen plates will turn up on a similar truck. Displaying Fictitious Plates here is PC for arrest. Then we can question the suspect where or who he got the plates from.

Okay, so they found it... Inside's trashed. Food and soda everywhere, everything of value including my full set of Wet Okole's and floor mats is gone. Immobilizer was engaged when I got to it, my key wouldn't unlock the steering wheel or start the engine, only open the door. By the time it got flatbedded to the dealership, the tow driver was able to start it, so I'm not sure what the deal is with the electronics.

What I know so far in addition to losing all my stuff, is that they ripped the XM antenna off the top, couple minor scratches on the driver's door where I guess they broke in, they took the bed storage covers off and one of them is missing, stole my rear hitch D-ring mount, etc... Broke some of the handles on the seats when they were taking the seat covers out, and probably some of the wiring for the airbag stuff. Interestingly, they knew how to unhook the flap underneath the seats to get the covers off... Thought that was strange.

Yeah she's been violated pretty hard :( I'm going to the dealership first thing in the morning to check up on what they've found and decide what I want to do. It's new enough where between the insurance and trade in value it wouldn't cost too much to trade her in for a 2012 or 13... Or maybe go for a 3.5L Camry SE? I haven't been able to do much offroading since moving into the city. Just going to have to look at all my options and see what's wrong with the truck :/
