That's a shame :/. You feeling up to working on your project car? That could get you up and about, fixing stuff and not spending currently nonexistent money

Looks like a lot of rust for one year... Otherwise, you'll want to price out what it will take to get them rebuilt (I'm assuming they can be rebuilt). I wouldn't take his word for the amount of time he's had them unless he has receipts to show the true age. They are $1,000 shocks new.

The reason that keeps be away from higher end shocks (besides the cost) is the fact that they will need tobe rebuilt in about 30k miles rather than just junk the shock and buy new. Also, the level of performance I can get out of more standard shocks like Bilstein 5100's is adequate for what I do. If you need the higher performance, it's not a bad deal at all.

Buying used coil overs. Like is it a gamble? I mean it's only $450 worse case I have them rebuilt

I'm gonna take your word. And save for 5100's.

I guess that was my point. I got 5100's because that's the most performance I'll ever need out of a set of shocks. If you go for the Camburgs, I'd at the very least, plan on a rebuild and if you don't need it, great. The good thing about rebuilding them, you can have them valved the way YOU want them. If you want that kind of customization and adjustability, then go for it. The other thing is, they have adjustable collars to make height adjustments much easier vs. just the set ride height options you get with 5100's. Unfortunately, I don't know what it costs to have a set of shocks revalved so I don't know how much of a gamble you'd be taking. If he has receipts, that takes a lot of the gamble out of it.

But you don't get an adjustable, rebuildable coilover for that kind of money... There's a benefit in going with the Camburgs, it's just up to the end user whether the cost for the extra performance is needed and worth the money.

I bought my icon ext travel coilovers used from a member on Tw . Before these I had 5100's and 5100's and eibach coils . I didn't rebuild mine . I haven't had any issues with them . It cost around $200 to get mine rebuilt .
I'm completely happy with how my truck rides on/off road . I like that I can lift or lower it to fine tune the comfort of the ride .

But on the other hand 5100's are good shock too . But I wouldn't go back to them :D

I'm going to call him and ask if he has documentation and receipts on them. Not sure of the valving and rebuild costs either. Prolly around the price ill be paying for the camburgs
