I had 10% on my old GTI and the few times I got pulled over I remembered what a few cop friends told me to do.

Any time you get pulled over, especially at night, do the following.
Pull off the side of the road as far as possible to not make the cop stand in traffic; they appreciate not being at as much risk.
Roll both of your front windows, if not all 4, all the way down.
    Turn on your interior lights
    Shut the vehicle off
Keep your hands on the wheel

I never had a cop ask me to roll my window back up to check the tint and they were generally a lot more at ease knowing I had nothing to hide and no way of running away. FWIW it's generally led to a more pleasant interaction all around.

This. Typically respect for authority will get you respect as well. Has always worked for me except with one CSP. I think he was out to issue a ticket regardless.

Was at the dealership this morning and found a nail in my right front's sidewall. Leaking air pretty bad so I had to pony up and replace it. $$$ :(

Some cops write F U tickets, some are just trying to enforce the codes. And if you installed the tint yourself, its between 500 and 1000 bucks

Its a surcharge, mostly goes to help pay for services for people who have been victims of crimes.

No they don't really. Because the reasoning is that once you take possession of the car, its your responsibility to know what's legal and what's not.

Front bumper is required by the statute.
