Oh yeah, I agree. For some reason, Twas the night before Christmas was going through my head. Maybe it's the bells on the front door, or all the Christmas presents that are now wrapped...

Climbed three hills like this today at some trail right next to my friends house. I ended up pin striping the crap out of my truck as well :(

How much higher? Is there a point I wouldn't want to cross as it just limits my downtravel too much? Oh and another probably dumb question. Does going from 31" to 33" tires effect my cv angles or anything in a negative manner? Like if I crank this down a bit more then throw on bigger tires later, is that bad?

Did you take a stock measurement?
How much uptravel do you have now?
How much downtravel do you have now?
How much preload is on the coils?
Did you compensate for taco lean with more preload on the driver's side than the passenger side?

Tire size does not affect CV angle...unless you break a ball joint, but then you have bigger problems.

Anyone care to explain to me why PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals would kill more animals than they can save?

I took before measurements, one week after measurements, one month after measurements and current measurements after I got them cranked down more. How can I measure the travel? Jack up a tire and measure how much it goes up and down from the wheel to the fender? Both sides are even threads showing and my driver side sits 1/2" lower.

If you took measurements before, I would just set it to 2.75-3" and call it a day.
As for wheel travel, at ride height measure how much shock shaft is showing. Then jack up the truck, remove the coil spring from the coilover and reassemble the shock into the truck without the coil. Jack the LCA up till it bottoms out and take a measurement. Lower the LCA until you have the same amount of shock shaft and take a measurement. Then let it droop all the way to bottom out and take a measurement. With Top, Middle and Bottom measurements:
    Top-Bottom= total travel
    Top-Middle = uptravel
    middle-bottom = downtravel

I'm anal retentive so i add more preload to the drivers side to compensate for taco lean.

I think you'll find PETA to be somewhat less than concerned for their actions as a whole. Like freeing laboratory animals. Who lets animals born and bred in a lab environment out in the wild where they won't survive (and calls it the right thing to do)?

Alright thanks for the explanation. So simple even I understood it :). I'll save that info for later because there's no way I can safely remove the coils by myself right now. I believe I just need about half an inch or so more.

    No problem.
For the record, not sure how you planned on taking the coils out, but it's easiest to just rotate the adjustment collar ALL the way to the top. Once you do that the coil should be floating free and you can pull the conical bottom plate off the coilover and drop the coil strait out the bottom of the shock.
