    I've seen a number of guys use a caddy off the back like that. depending on the trails you're on, it should be fine. If the trails are a bit more techinical and have more rocks then you could have some issues with departure angle. It's not ideal to have the bike off the back but if that's your best option then you do what you have to do. One possible suggestion that i've seen before is to put some solid casters (small wheels) at the trailing edge of the arms on your caddy. It might help it to roll down ledges and rocks a bit better than dragging your caddy.

    I've seen guys use caster on their lower shackle bolts too to keep from jacking up their springs coming down ledges. I've never done it but it seems to work.
