Been looking at these forums for a while now, during my deliberations as to what I was going to buy next.. Will be picking up my new Toy on Thursday 29 April 2011.. I am coming out of a VERY modified Jeep that took me years to build myself, and a LOT of busted knuckles.. short list, 36 inch tires, 500 pounds or so in armor, and a final gear ratio of 97:1... was a solid built everyday driving rock crawler..lots of love in that rig, but alas she did me one last favor and I didn't die when the fella pulled out in front of me at 40 MPH back in Jan.. I miss the old girl.

These forums are much like the Jeep ones I frequent, people with loads of good info to share :)

Sold my 10 Point Dinan Cooper.. and saved my nickels and dimes, and am buying a Taco.. Hopefully she does me as well as I expect her to :)

I'm into the Society for creative anachronism, off roading, gaming, and the second amendment. Heavily tattooed, and pierced.. and I am a locksmith :)

How's that for a short (sarcasm) hello?

Nice looking truck you got there!

Judging by the description of your previous vehicle I'm expecting an impressive build coming up. ;)

Well, sorry I have been lax on my forum browsing in the last year and change... Makes things short, I had a kid, all healed up form that accident that killed my old jeep... Back to work, now I'm looking at modding my truck some. Thinking bumpers, and sliders, maybe a small lift, enough to clear some 285's im not scared of some trim work to make em work... Clearencing myself is much better than self Clearencing on the trail via sheet metal massage ;)

Since I'm coming from full live axels on a jeep, and having never lifted a Tacoma before, what's considered a good bang for the buck? I'm probably not going to wheel this like I did my jeep (can't afford to repair stuff like I used to... See "I had a kid")

Currently working on a leer cap, and removing my toolbox (anyone local wanna buy it?) gonna build a sleeping platform with tool storage underneath.. My girl loves camping and the outdoors... And sleeping in the truck will be nice for those overnight climbing or hiking trips, just so we don't have to tear down a campsite:)

I'll post more, currently cleaning out the bed to get some measurements for the cabinet I wanna build.

Those sliders look nice and beefy. I need to keep reminding myself, this is not a black three and up rated vehicle.. Not for me at least... Cap first, sleeping platform / tool storage next.. Shrok works front bumper, dunno about rear bumper yet, thinking shrok there too.. If shrok isn't willing to cut a deal if I order bumpers and sliders all at once, I'll be seriously looking at those BAMF sliders.

Then lift.. Nothing huge, I'm not gonna be crawling all over hells half acre in this truck. 33x10.50's and I'll be happy. Coil overs up front and a new set of leafs for the rear. Shocks.. Skids... Lights...

Holy crap, there is a reason I I went a year with out modding this thing. This is the longest I've had a 4 wheel drive that I haven't do t anything serious to.

    The addiction... It is bad.

Then this is a really bad place for a modding habit, this is where discretionary spending goes to die
