I ran 885s got about 2.5" up front, if I could go back and do it over I would have got the 886s / nitros to begin with. I ran the 885s no armor for around 6 months, ordered a bumper (about 1/2" sag), ran it like that for 2 months, installed winch (about 7/8" sag altogether), ran it like that for a month before swapping to 886s. You don't want to breakdown your IFS twice to do a job right the first time. Like I said it would take a while (probably over a year) to corrupt your drivetrain with 886s and no weight.

Yeah thats what i thought. I was going to do a full OME kit with the nitros and dakars in the rear, was just having an issue with what coils to go with. Also im not 100% sure if i need a bumper. definatly want one, but just trying to think of ways to save some coin. If i am set on getting the bumper ill go with the 886, and i should be good to go. But really thats my whole dilema on the situation. Just trying to see if i could run everything on the 885's for a while, and be able to get away with it.

guess its really just time to say screw it and start saving haha.

Well I pulled the trigger and got OME 885x coils. Right now I have 5100's set at 2.5 with stock TRD coils. I wonder if I should set the 5100's at 0 or at 0.85 to get the truck level. I have 2" AAL in the back and right now my truck is slanted towards the front. I do have a steel tube skid bumper which weighs roughly 50-80lbs. I am leaning towards 0.85 setting but this thread makes me question it LINK --> http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/244811-5100-ome-885-install-problems-help.html

    Thoughts?

If you have a bumper and are considering running 885's with 5100's @.85 , what made you decide not to get the 886's ?

Got the 885x used for decent price. 885x according to Totec website are up to 110lbs of extra weight. I figured my bumper is less than that its not full plate bumper. All I want is my truck to sit level.

Here is picture of my bumper...

Got the 885x installed with 5100's set at .85 and my truck sits perfectly level with 2" AAL in the rear! Ride is STIFF but way better than with oem TRD coils and 5100's set at 2.5.
