Tacoma redesign has been moved to the year 2013.

Haha! Well let's see if I can hop on this bandwagon sooner than what happened with the Mazda! Bought it, 9 months later the new design 2010's were out and my resale went...

2013!!!!! well that kinda fits with my plans to keep this one a few more years.

 

well, my truck will be 6 yrs old by then. So this one will be my 'wheeler, and I can get a new one for my DD then..... if thats really when the new one comes out.

 

Question is will you really want it, the redesign will probably have some hybrid crappy engine that won't do jack. :sigh:

 

I dont know about that.... my parents' Prius is actually pretty quick, has tons of storage and gets good MPGs. Just doesnt look the best .

 

Good, my lease ends in 2011. I don't like the idea of buying a new design in it's first year, so I'll have the option to either upgrade to a V6/4x4 in the current generation, or keep this one for a few more years after the lease and upgade to a 3rd gen (depending on how they compare to the 2nd gens).

 

That is good news for me as I have an 09, when I bought my wifes Camry they changed the next year.

 

yup, it should be destroyed and erased from history now before in infects the rest of the world. Unibody + Trucks = FAIL. Add in the fact it's a hybrid, it's EPIC FAIL.

Not to mention it's almost as ugly as a Scion xB.

 

Actually, electric motors have more torque and 100% of it is available at about ANY RPM. No crappy torque curves. hit the "gas" pedal and it shoots.

Granted you'd have to have a decently-strong motor, but personally, I'm looking forward to them shoving in some electric motors. They'll need some time to mature of course, but eventually... Have you seen the specs on the Telsa sports car? go check out the torque & HP curves on that bad boy, then try to find a gas motor that can touch that with a stick and not burst into flames.

They're awesome for performance in reality, having enough charge is the only real downside. Hopefully battery tech catches up in the next handful of years.

I think it'll be awesome. Think about the possibility of an electric-powered truck, out in the middle of nowhere, with panels on the top that have the ability charge/trickle charge your engine.

 

I want that white SEMA concept. It would probably be the best selling tacoma of all times
