I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Has anyone changed out the lights in their 05-07 Tacoma? I have an 06 and am pretty sure they are led lights but I am not certain. I am looking to either make them superwhite or blue. Thanks for the help,

    Joshua

I would be very interested in going Blue, but I have not heard of anyone doing this. You are correct. They are LED light bulbs.

The question is: Are they orange, or is the filter on the gauges orange?

That is what I was wondering. I had a 05 Silverado that I traded in for my Tacoma and the leds were actually soldered in so changing them out was expensive. If they are just bulbs then it wouldn't be a problem, as long as there isn't an orange film on the gauges. Hopefully someone will chime in that has some insight.

    Thanks,
    Joshua

I'm pretty certain that the 05+ use an orange tinted led for the dash lights, which would be a major PITA to change.

Well, at least an orange tinted LED can be changed out. If it is a film that is in the gauge wall, then that is tons harder to replace.

Hopefully this weekend I will have time to tear into the gauge panel and see.

Well I found a quick write up over on Toyota Nation with what it takes however the person who changed the LED's hasn't given a link or supplier for them yet. I hope whoever does this is very skilled with a soldering iron and is also very patient.

    Holy-hard-to-do, Batman!!!

I think I will just put up with my orange/amber junk. I don't want to mess anything up (and I would).

This mod will be put on the list for a professional to do. It was the same thing I went through with my Silverado. I know some people that are electronics whizzes that I hope will be up to the challenge. Damn...this sucks.

Thanks for the link and info.

I would love to do that, but unfortunately I'm not that brave.

Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
